Time skip to when everyone got there and Ava is doing last minute checks.

Maudie POV

Me, Ezra and Kyle sat down on Ava's couch as she starts tapping her pencil on a clipboard.

"Okay so we got everything." Ava smiled.

"Yes we have, can we go now?" I asked.

"We can when our ride gets here." Ava sad as she pulled out her phone.

"Who's and whats our ride?" Ezra asked.

"Dont worry about it." Ava winked.

We then heard a honk coming from outside the house.

"Our rides here!" Ava said as she starts heading for the door.

We went outside and saw Mr Grudge in a red van.

Mr Grudge is a bald, middle aged man who was always in a cranky mood.

He was called the neighborhood monster.

He also has many cats.

I nudged Ava's elbow.

"How did you get Mr Grudge to drive us?" I whispered.

"I planned one of his cats birthday. He owed me" Ava whispered back.

"Oh, no wonder." I said as i walked closer to the van.

I have really not met Mr Grudge.

People told me to avoid him

Especially Ezra.

Though I am quite fascinated about Mr Grudge.

What does he do all day?

Does he know kids are calling him the local neighborhood monster?

"Hey Mr Grudge." I said giving a friendly wave.

"What." He said with an unpleasant look in his face.

"Thank you for driving us." I said giving a big smile.

"Whatever, Just tell the other trouble makers to get in." Mr Grudge grunted.

I just nodded my head and turned my head to give them a signal.

I could see Poor Kyle carrying his bag and 4 of Avas

I could see Ava's giggling as Kyle struggles to walk over to the van with her bags.

I then realized i had forgotten my bag.

I wanted to go back in and take it but Ezra stopped me.

"Don't worry i got it." Ezra said handing me my big backpack with an adorable smile.

"That was very thoughtful of you Ez." I smiled as i opened the van door.

I then got in and Ezra followed along.

Kyle and Ava finally reached us and Kyle placed Ava's bags at the backseat of the van.

"That was so exhausting.." Kyle said as he gasped for air.

"Thank you." Ava said as she gave him a hug.

I could tell that Kyle wasn't Disgusted by her hugs anymore.

"Lets just get in Ava." Kyle said as he resisted.

But i knew he liked it.

I was next to Ezra who was next to Kyle who was next to Ava.

We were all in and soon we were on the move.

I had many questions to ask Mr Grudge.

"Mr Grudge, what do you do all day?" I asked.

Ezra nudged me and gave me a disapproving look.

"Why'd you wanna know?" Mr Grudge grunted.

"I just find you very interesting." I said.

"Well, i watch the telly while playing with my cats." Mr Grudge said.

"Really? How do you earn money?" I asked.

"Im retired.." Mr Grudge said.

"Oh really? then you must have made a lot of money before." I said.

"Yeah, i used to be a millionaire." My Grudge said.

"Oh So thats why you retired early..." I said.

Mr Grudge then burst out at me for no apparent reason at all.

"Can you just shut it you little twerp. Having a conversation with you brats was not in my deal with Ava." Mr Grudge said.

"Okay fine." I said a bit disappointed.

Mr Grudge is very rude.

Thats why people call him the Neighborhood monster.

He still seems fascinating for some reason.

Then It was very quiet.

No one spoke.

It seemed like everyone in this van was scared of him.

I then got a notification from my phone.

EzraBanks: Maudie i am so scared.

MaudieM: What are you scared for?

EzraBanks: Mr Grudge terrifies me. Plus he was really rude to you.

MaudieM: I guess so but the ride is only going to be 20 minutes more, you can survive it.

EzraBanks: Fine.

I then stuffed my phone into my pocket.

I looked to turn to Ezra but he was already looking at me.

He was blacking out again.

He always does that...

I then messed up his hair to snap him out of it.

Ezra then snapped out of it and started fixing his hair.

He mouthed the words 'MAUDIE'

I giggled silently.

Wow, this is really happening.

One whole week with the InBESTigators.

One week of Ava's nagging and joy.

One week of Kyle's nonsense.

One week of Ezra's smiles.
