Rose's POV

"You guys have a weird relationship, ya know that?"

A loud groan escaped my lips as I slowly retracted myself from Scorpius and turned around to face my brother. Hugo was leaning casually against a tree, watching us. One hand cozy in his pressed pant pocket, the other drawing a lazy sip of butterbeer to his lips.

"Are you kidding me?" I snapped. "What does a girl have to do to get a bit of privacy around here?"

"I mean, I was just saying! If your looking for a stage the dance floor is that way," Hugo pointed towards the dance floor where surrounding people clapped their hands to Teddy and Victoire's dance moves.

I turned to Scorpius, pondering the idea. He just looked at me. "Are you ready to dance?"

"Are you going to meet me at 8:30 Westfield Mall tomorrow morning?"

"Yes," I answered immediately.

"Then yes."

I laughed. I grabbed his hand—warm in evening, on the verge of perspiring but somehow I didn't mind. Larger than mine, it wrapped cozily around my fingers and enclosed the peach of my palm in a space so warm. It felt safe. I led him by the hand to the dance floor.

"Like I said! Weird!" Hugo called after us. We ignored him as we wove our way between the crowd, the music getting louder with each person we passed.

As we reached the bouncing dance floor we were suddenly pushed in by the clapping crowd, forcing us into the middle with the rest of the twirling couples.

"Okay..." I muttered, suddenly realizing how large the crowd was.

"What're you thinking about?" Scorpius asked in an amused tone.

"Two things," I said, feeling even more embarrassed now that we were the only couple not dancing. "One, I can't dance, heels or no heels. Two, this crowd is big."

"Don't worry about the crowd," Scorpius said. "It's just like that time at the Halloween Party, think about that.  As for the dancing ..."

I have him a curious look before feeling his arm slip around my waist, pulling me towards him.

"Leave that to me," he whispered into my ear before suddenly jumping into the dance around us, yanking me along with him.

"Scorpius!" I exclaimed as I nearly stumbled into another couple. I plastered a smile as we faced them, "Sorry, sorry ..."

"Awkward much?" Scorpius smirked, leaning into me.

"Inconsiderate much?" I snapped back.

He laughed.

"Come on, now lets go slowly," He said before leading me into a slower version of Teddy and Victoire's bouncing dance.

"Come on Rose!" Roxanne called from the front of the crowd. "You can do it!"

"Just don't fall on your face again!" Fred yelled next to her.

"Fred!"

I gave them a sarcastic look, "Thanks guys. That's - that's really helpful."

After a few minutes of stumbling around on the dance floor I stopped. Thankfully, by then the music beat had slowed and the clapping had stopped.

"Okay, you know what?"

Scorpius arched an eyebrow, "What?"

Without warning I slipped out of my heels, swiped them off the floor and threw them over my shoulder, hearing a satisfying crash as it landed behind the food table.

Scorpius's eyes widened, "Rose, what the hell?!"

"Whoo! MUCH better!" I chirped happily, bouncing on the balls of my feet.

"You know how much that cost?" Scorpius said accusingly, but couldn't help the grin that cracked his face.

"Not as much as me, I hope," I said teasingly, before taking his hand again. "Now. Where were we?"

"Rose!"

At the sound of Roxanne's voice we both turned to see her leaning in from the edge of the dance floor, waving to me frantically.

I sighed, "I'll be right back," I said to Scorpius before hurrying off the dance floor.

"What's up, cuz?" I asked cheerily, adding a little skip as I landed in front of her.

She took one look at my bare feet. Her brows furrowed, "What happened to your—don't answer that," her excited look returned as she grabbed my hand and jerked me away from the dance floor.

"Wait a second—Roxanne!"

"Shhh! She's about to throw the bouquet!!"

"But... but Scorpius—"

"Don't worry, he'll understand! This is for both of you!"

At her words, my brows furrowed. For both of us?? "I don't quite get what you..."

"At most Magicized Weddings, the bride's bouquet is also enchanted," Roxanne explained in a low voice as we reached an area where a dozen women and teenagers stood on their tiptoes, eying Victoire's raised bouquet in determination.

It took me a moment to realise what she was implying.

     "You mean if we..."

     "Yup."

     "Then we..."

     "Yup."

I nodded awkwardly, "Ahh. I see now."

"Okay, is everyone ready?" Victoire's melodic voice rang out as she lifted the bouquet higher. Lavender, peony and bluebell clasped in a glorious golden clutch.

"Just throw the bloody thing already!" A forty year-old woman in furry fuchsia clothing yelled. She was bouncing on the balls of her feet, eyes a startlingly scheming blaze. "My hands are yearning to bite some flowers."

"How is she still single?" I asked, frowning at Roxanne.

As Victoire lifted the bouquet in final warning, the fuchsia woman sneered, "You're going down, bitches..."

Roxanne smirked, "There goes that question."

The bouquet flew.

Dozens of cries filled the air, but it could have been a thousand. There was also the angry yapping of an old woman. Hands—outstretched, strained, high in the air as if the owner had magically elongated their arms—followed the soaring line of the bouquet.

It's just a bouquet, I thought.

As if God had heard my wileless thought, a parcel soft and cold catapulted straight into my face.

It sent me tumbling back. I gasped, fumbling to grab hold of the bouquet that had slammed itself into me.

As I did, a thought popped into my brain. A thought that had never even occurred before, and I didn't know if it was the enchantment of these cunning wedding bouquets or if I had just never seen Scorpius's words so clearly. An explosion of dread overwhelmed my insides as it dawned on me what tomorrow was about.

Oh.  My.  God.

I was going to meet Scorpius's parents.

Konichiwa!!
Yes, I made up the chess thing and the bouquet thing.  Sry, but so just kind of felt there should be a little more enchantisized things at a Wizard Wedding.
Hope it was ok!!
