Rose's POV

Beep ... Beep ... Beepbeep ... beepbeep ...

I groaned as a dizzy feeling washed over me, spiraling through my head and down my body.

What ...

"Ron, she's awake!" hissed a familiar voice, before a loud shuffling filled the room.
Mum?

"Watch. Her heart rate ..." Hermione's voice muffled, and I heard Ron answer back quietly but no words were recognized in my fading ears.

Using as much energy as I could muster, I slowly peeled open my eyes to see a rush of blurry colors take over.

"Rose? Rose, can you hear us?" a warm hand took mine. "Can you see us?"

As if on cue, the colors started dividing into the images, showing me the two worried faces of my parents.

It took me a moment to take a breath on the situation.

"What happened?" I asked hoarsely. "Where am I?" How am I alive?

After a moment of blinking, I realized I was lying in a clean white bed with a metal chair next to it, the only thing interesting in the room a large potted plant.

"You're at St. Mungos," Ron answered, looking at me over his wife's shoulder.

"St. Mungos?!" I repeated in alarm.

I'm in a hospital.

"Mhm," Hermione nodded, smiling weakly at me. "You've been in a comma for three months."

"Three months?!"

I swung off the covers ready to leap up when a gush of cold air whipped over my skin. Hospital dress. Okay then.

"Hey now. Take it easy," Ron said, quickly pulling the covers back over me. "You were just with death eaters, for crying out loud ... Speaking about tragedies, do you want an extra pillow? Your back must be sore from lying down so much -"

"Oh, no, no, no," I declined quickly as he tried to prop me up. Sharp pains crackled up my spine. "Please don't."

"Ron, let the girl handle herself," Hermione said. "She's eighteen."

"I'm trying to help. Unlike someone."

"Breaking her neck isn't called helping."

"She needs a back massage! Someone did sectumsempra on her."

"You know who I wanna do sectumsempra on?"

As I heard them start to bicker, I couldn't help a small laugh that escaped my dry throat.

It's like everything's normal again. Like I hadn't left home without permission, or jumped down a hole that led into a creepy maze, or almost died trying to save Hogwarts.

Suddenly, I stopped. Crap, what happened with Hogwarts? DID we save it?!

"I'll get the kids," Ron said, before walking towards the door and poking his head out. "GUYS! ROSE IS AWAKE!"

There was the sound of quick thudding footsteps and quiet whispers before the familiar faces of Hugo, Fred, Roxanne and ...

I gasped, "Lily!"

She grinned at me, combing her ginger-red hair as she made her way over to the other side of the bed, "Hey, cuz."

"How are you feeling?" Hugo asked me, walking over next to her. His face was grim as he stared at me.
