Chapter 13: The Shocking Truth

Alex POV

I walked in the heavy rain, wearing a black H.D Arkham Street Coat with a grey hood over my head and a grey scarf covering my mouth and nose, a black long sleeved t shirt, dark blue jeans and black Georgia Muddog boots, after a long day from school and was heading home after work.

It has been 5 weeks ever since our loss against Blitz and her two friends. Nino, Alya and I were discharged from the hospital 4 weeks earlier. We hung out at our usual space but there wasn't much to talk about. Marinette is missing. Adrien and Lilly are dating. The Miracle Box is gone. And Tina has been akumatised. I called Rodrigo and told him what happened.

"Alright. I'll take the first plane to Paris tomorrow morning." He told me.

Uncle Joseph tried to cheer me up by taking me out for pizza. But nothing helped. I trudged along the wet pavement . Until, I saw Lilly and Claire walking into an alleyway. I followed them and eavesdropped on their conversation.

"The plan was a success. I have Adrien wrapped around my finger." Lilly said.

"And now we have Mari-trash and the Miracle Box in our possession." Claire said . "But what about Alex and the others?" 

"Don't worry, Chloe. Once we have all the miraculous, they won't be a problem anymore." She said.

"I hope you're right, Lila. For your sake." Chloe replied.

I turned and walked away as quickly as I could. I couldn't believe my ears! How could I have been so blind!? Lilly and Claire are Lilla and Chloe! 

I was wrapped around my own thoughts, I ended up knocking into a blonde haired girl. I apologised and gave her a hand up.

The girl has pale, light greyish gold-blonde hair with light brilliant rose-coloured bangs on the left side, vivid azure eyes, light scarlet-coral lips and freckles. Her hair is slightly dyed pink. She is wearing a black faux leather jacket, a white top with a pink, cyan and yellow honeycomb flower on the front, and yellow pants. On her feet, her shoes have white shoelaces, toe caps and soles. The sides of her shoes are decorated with blue, lime-green and pink heart and star patterns with black outlines. There's a moderate apple green crown on the left side of her left shoe and a white skull on the left side of her right shoe. The midsole of the shoes seem to be decorated with different drawings that appeared to be drawn with a black permanent marker. The left shoe has a red heart drawn on the toe cap that reads "I ♡︎U". On her left wrist, She also wears a two blue beaded brown bracelets and red and yellow pattern wide white bracelet with black lining on each and a luminous vivid opal-coloured beanie on her head. 

"It's fine." The girl said. Then she looked at me closely. "Wait? Have I seen you before?"

"I don't think we have. My name is Alex." I said. The girl gasped.

"You're The Vigilante!? Le Loup? Alexander Jean-Pierre Peirce!?" She asked. I nodded. She took my hand and shook it. "It is truly an honour to meet you!"

"Umm. Ok?" I said. Who is this girl?

"Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't introduced myself. My name is Zoe. Zoe Lee." The girl said.

"Zoe Lee? I was thinking you look like her." I said.

"My half-sister, Chloe? Yeah." She said with a glum look on her face. "I'm sorry if I was bothering you." 

I shook my head. "Don't worry about it. I was just about go home."

"Well, umm. It was nice to meet you, Alexander." Zo smiled.

"Please. Call me Alex." I said. "Well. See you." I said.

"Bye." Zoe replied and walked away.

I looked up to the sky and sighed.

Even with everything that has happened, I believe that hope is not dead.
