Le Loup: Rise of Madam Peacock

Chapter 26: Sisters no more.

Zoe POV

I stood on the roof of the Le Grande de Paris hotel and watched as I saw an army of foot soldiers march into Paris. I was wearing a yellow and black bulletproof jacket with a white t shirt underneath, a dark blue jeans  and black combat boots. I had a yellow bandana across my face. 

I couldn't decide if I was ready or not. But with what Max told me, I don't have time to think.

8 hours earlier

After school, I heard on the news that Madam Peacock will be approaching Paris along with her army. I ran into Max on the way home. He was wearing a bulletproof vest over his green t shirt and was holding a spud gun in his hand. 

"Why do you have a potato gun in your hands?" I asked.

"If you haven't heard  the news, Madam Peacock is coming to Paris and is going to rule over France. So I'm preparing myself for a fight. I suggest you do the same. We only got 9 hours 16 minutes and  5 seconds to get ready." Max said. 

"Alright, where did you get all this equipment?" I asked.

"Made the spud gun myself. The rest is from Alex's godfather, Joseph Price." Max said, gave me the address and left with his group.

Without any hesitation, I made my way to the address and found Joseph Price. He wore a white shirt, black trousers and black shoes. He has a black bulletproof vest strapped on his torso and a revolver on his thigh. 

"Oh, you're the new girl Alex told me about. Zoe Lee, right?" He asked me. I nodded. "Well then, I don't have much, but take what you need." He pointed to his desk.

I picked up a pair of black tonfas and attach the holsters to my waist. I put on a black bulletproof jacket and zipped it up and a pair of black combat boots. I pulled out a yellow bandana and wrapped it around my neck.

"My sister is going to be there, isn't she?" I asked.

Joseph nodded grimly.

"You might have to fight her. If you want, you can help with evacuation." Joseph said.

I shook my head. "I want to find out why she's doing this." 

"Well, I can't stop you, Zoe." He shrugged and left his apartment. 

I took a deep breath and pulled the bandana to cover my mouth and nose.

Present

I heard the sound of footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw my older sister. She is wearing a black and gold jumpsuit with red gloves and black boots. Her mask also matches her jumpsuit and her skin was dark gold. She also had red and black earrings and a hairclip shaped like a bee. 

"Hello, half sister." She said with a smirk.

"Chloe, why are you doing this? It was bad enough that you helped Hawk Moth before and then Shadow Spade. Now you're helping Lila. Why?" I asked.

"I wanted revenge on those who ruined me. Starting with Mari-Trash and her friends. Just torturing her was fun." She laughed at the thought.

"This isn't the way, Chloe." I said as I shook my head.

"For me, it is. First, I'll get rid of you. Then the mayor." She said as she drew her sword.

I pulled out my tonfas and rushed forward. 

Our weapons clashed against each other.

Chloe swung her sword at my stomach. I quickly jumped backwards and swept her off her feet. She landed and rolled to the side as I slammed my tonfas on to the ground. We continued our fight, parrying each others blows.

"VENOM!" Chloe shouted and her sword glowed black and yellow. I tried to dodge her attack but was too slow. The blade struck my leg. I tried to move but my body wouldn't comply. She raised her sword, ready to finish me off. 

Until, I heard a gunshot. The sword was knocked out of her hands. I saw Joseph armed with a 1911 pistol.

"Fine. I'll deal with you first." She said and summoned another sword. Joseph sheathed his pistol and pulled out a stun baton.

Chloe advanced towards Joseph and swung her sword. He quickly stepped to the side and struck her in the stomach, sending a wave of electricity into her. Chloe stepped back, clutching her stomach.

The two continued their fight until Joseph kicked the sword out of her hands and struck her in the head, knocking her out. 

"That was for my godson, you bitch." He said and removed the bee hairclip, thus releasing me from her paralysis. I collapsed onto my knees. Joseph helped me up.

"Come on, let's-" He stopped and looked behind him. His eyes widened. I looked in the same direction and gasped.

Chloe had a rocket launcher aimed at us.

"Chloe. Please. I'm your sister." I pleaded. 

"You're not my sister." She replied with a sadistic grin and fired the rocket launcher.

"Oh shi-!" Joseph exclaimed as the explosion knocked both of us of the roof.
