Chapter 3: New Faces

Alex POV

As our Physics teacher Ms. Mendeleiev continued with our lesson, I thought back to what happened 2 months ago. Shadow Spade has been defeated and execute for his crimes. While I was happy that he is gone for good, I felt a twinge of pity for him. He was abused as a child and lost the only person who cared for him, his older brother. But in the end, he chose a life of crime and world domination. I did what I had to do in order to save Paris, even if it costed me my identity. Speaking of which, I received a lot of looks of admiration about me being The Vigilante. While I was still able to continue my career, I felt as if it was time to hang up the trench coat and gear and move on. Shadow Spade is dead. Hawkmoth is dead. Paris is at peace. At least I think so. Lila is still at large and the Peacock miraculous is nowhere to be found.

"Class, I would like you to meet our two new students. Claire Beauregard and Lilly Rose." Ms Mendeleiev said. Two girls waved at the class. One had ginger hair, orange eyes and tanned skin. She was wearing a light blue cardigan, a black t shirt, purple jeans and violet plimsols.  The other girl had dark blonde hair, dark blue eyes and make up. She was wearing a yellow and black blazer, a white t shirt, black leggings and yellow sneakers. 

"I hope we can get along." Lilly said with a shy smile. Claire just shrugged. 

I raised an eyebrow. Why do they look familiar all of a sudden? 

"Hey, is it me or does those two girls remind me of Chloe and Lila?" I asked Adrien.

"Not really. Chloe's in prison and Lila is on the run." He replied. 

I guess I was wrong. Still, something doesn't seem right. I wish I knew.

After class, the gang and I hung out at our usual place. We talked about the new students and teacher. I looked at my phone and saw no crimes being committed today. 

"Hi. Can we sit here?" We looked up and saw Lilly and Claire. 

"Sure. It's a free country." Marinette said.

Lilly smiled a sweet smile while Claire just nodded. 

"So, you two are friends?" Alya asked.

"Since childhood." Claire answered briefly.

"Sorry about Claire. She doesn't talk much." Lilly chuckled.

"Wonder who that reminds me of?" Adrien glanced at me with a smirk. I scowled and responded by giving him the reverse "v" gesture. 

"Alex, you promised you'll get along with Adrien." Marinette scolded.

"Yes, Alex. You've hurt me feelings." Adrien replied with a mocking sob and placed a hand on his chest as if he's been shot. He rested his  head on Marinette's lap.

"Ok. I'm sorry. You have a bad habit wearing your heart on you sleeve, Adrien." I sighed. 

"It's part of my charm, Loup." He replied as Marinette petted him.

"Wait, you're Le Loup!?" Lilly gasped and moved closer to me. I moved back, surprised by the girls sudden interest in me. I

"On again. Off again." I replied.

"Then Nino must be Carapace. Alya is Rena Rouge. And you two must be Ladybug and Chat Noir." Lilly said as she pointed to each one of us.

"Yeah. That pretty much sums it up." Adrien said.

"Personally, I like Chat Noir better. He maybe corny at times. But he's really heroic. And he's so hot." Lilly said as she gazed at Adrien.

"And he's taken." Marinette replied with a scowl. Lilly laughed. Claire chuckled.

"Don't worry. Lilly isn't going to take away your kitty away from you." Claire said with a reassuring tone. 

We shivered. 

"Hey, is it me or did the temperature drop all of a sudden." Nino asked.

We heard a explosion and saw a giant ice golem. On top stood a man in an icy blue suit and mask, freezing civilians.

"Time to go." Marinette said. We nodded and went to go and hide and transform. I took of my civilian outfit and put on my vigilante clothes.  We went to go and face the icy behemoth.
