Chapter 20: Its been a long time

Amanda's pov.

It was springtime in nyc and so much had happened. Aly and I were a happy couple with finn and our nyc loft apartment. I had some movies lined up to come out soon and everything felt right.

As I walked through central park with finn my phone started buzzing in my pocket. Stopping over on a bench I picked it up.

“Hey babe!” it was alistar.

“Hey!!”

“You would never believe who I am with right now!”

“Who?!” my mind traced through all of our old friends.

“Well i'll give you a hint, he just won an oscar, is extremely handsome and british!”

“Eddie...” my heart sank. I hadn't heard from him in 6th months and now he is in my house.

“Um... i'll be right home!”

my heart raced as I fast walked the rest of the way home. As I opened the door I didn't know what to expect. There standing in the kitchen stood aly and eddie. Eddie looked the same. Maybe a little older and more mature, but the same little freckles, brown soft hair, and slightly tanned skin. He looked up from his tea and stared at me. Slowly both of our mouthes furled into a smile. All the sudden all of the hard past we had gone through together went away as I ran into his arms.

“Amanda!!! oh my god!!”

“edward!! it is so good to see you!!”

“You too! You look so good!”

“Haha thank you.” I looked down and blushed. Aly placed a hand on my shoulder. “What do you think of that?” he asked.

“I think that my two favorite people are in the same room as me right now and that's all a girl could ask for.”

they both laughed and eddie kissed my cheek.

“Oh amanda! Yay!” I turned around to see hannah walking out of my bathroom. Be cool amanda. Be cool.

“Hey hannah! Great to see you!” now leave.... I thought to myself. She smiled and came over. Eddie put a arm around her.

“Oh yeah! Congrats on getting married and everything!”

“Thank you! I wish you could have been there!” hannah replied. I made eye contact with eddie and we had a convesation with our expressions. His eyes looked shameful for not inviting me and for bringing hannah to my house when she used to hate me.

“Well why don't you two come out to dinner with us tonight?” aly asked. I looked at him and sighed. Of course. Of course this had to happen.

I mustered up all the maturity I had to reply, “Yes! Please come! Both of you!”

“Well we would love to!” hannah said grabbing my hand. I smiled at her and followed aly into the living room.

“So eddie, finally scored an oscar? Wel diserved!”

“Thank you! Yeah! I was just thinking about it the other day, thank god I didn't have to sing at this one!” he said. I laughed, and nodded remembering that night.

“Oh god! That was so rough!”

“Remember I almost broke my dress?!” hannah chimed in. eddie looked at her confused and she turned beat red realizing she wasn't in the conversation.

“Have you heard from anyone?” aly asked trying to change the subject.

“Yeah! Hannah and I just saw aaron's play in london actually! It was great to see him! And then I saw annie right before the oscars and the other day in LA before we came here.

“Wow! Lucky! I haven't seen anyone!”

“Oh and I saw daniel at the into the woods premiere! Haha! Miss that kid!”

“Me too. I miss everyone... especially you!”

“Same.” we looked at each other for a long time then aly broke the silence and asked them about their summer plans. I tuned out and thought about that night eddie and I said goodbye to each other. Of course he had droven me to the airport a few days later but it was really that night that we let go and I explained to him my plan of moving to NYC.

“Is finn here?” eddie asked. I nodded, smiling. Whenever people want to see my beautiful dog it puts me in a good move. I called finn and he came running and leaped onto eddie's lap the minute he saw him. Eddie embraced it and gave finn a kiss and lots of pets.

“Awe he missed you!”

“Well I missed him! Huh? You being a good boy? Living in the city?”

finn liked his face and eddie cracked up. Hannah sat off to the side willing the dog not to go near her. I rolled my eyes and made finn get down. They left a little later but we made plans to meet up for dinner.

“Huh so how do you like that?”

“I think I love you even more!” I replied to aly after they left.

“I figured you might need to see eddie again after so long.”

“Yeah you know me well...” I mumbled.

“What's the matter?”

“Nothing.”

“Amanda.... tell me.”

“Well I just. I just feel like eddie is a completely different person and had a whole new life that i've failed to be a part of and it makes me sad.”

“Awe I was thinking you might feel that way. Eddie still loves you a lot though. When he came over he told me how much he has missed his little ball of light/cosette and if hannah wasn't here I think he wouldn't feel so awkward.”

“Then why did he bring her?!”

“They're married amanda? I get that you don't like her but eddie does so just try and be plesant at dinner.”

“You sound like my dad talking to me as a child.”

“Well you're acting like a child.”

“Whoa! You cannot talk to me like that. You don't even know one thing about eddie and hannah's and my relationship and have no right to tell me how to treat her.”

“Your right i'm sorry.” aly got up all mad and left. I fell back into the couch and sighed. So what if I was acting like a child? Eddie was just as much.

We will just have to see how dinner goes....
