The fire grew by the second destroying everything in its path, scorching the docks. Kylo and you watch for a moment, minds starting to race as years of training start to take over. You both reach for your communication device, your earpiece and his phone holding it up to your ears. People from the party were scattering everywhere, unbridled commotion all around.

"Agent Green? Green? Hello? Are you there? Green! Shit!"

*Static*

"Special Agent Ren, Order report! What the fuck is going on? Order report! Ahh Fuck!"

*Static*

Sharing a glance you both silently confirmed that something was jamming the signals. You leaned over the railing, resort security started to circle the perimeter moving from the sides of the building, but you saw something move in the shadows, something was out there. There was something you were missing and you couldn't figure it out, setting you on edge.

Kylo looked at you with intensity as a similar feeling settled in his chest stepping close to you, "What do you know?" voice short and sharp.

Your brow scrunched in anger hitting his chest to make some distance, "fucking nothing! What do you know?"

"How do I know the Republic didn't have some sabotage plan so we wouldn't get the Rhydonium and just blame it on something else!"

You scoffed a laugh crossing your arms across your chest, "You really think the republic would play that risky game of chance? I wanna know what role the Order played in this!"

With an angry growl he stepped towards you again face to face trying to assert his control and power, "Nothing!"

Truth and trust hung heavy in the air waiting, wanting to be snatched up and buried deep into each of your souls. However, how do you trust your enemy? Were you two real enemies? Really?

Turning back you start to walk back in when a large hand grabs your arm. You looked at him confused. Watching you walk away made something snap in him, "Where are you going?' Kylo's voice was firm.

"I have a job to do!" you answered quickly not wanting to waste any time.

"Angel come on." he looked at you as if you were crazy to go back to the Republic.

"The docks were attacked, and will probably blow again when that fire reaches the boats! I have a responsibility to make sure the Republic's assets are intact."

His hand didn't lose its grip just holding you there. Your eyes searched his face, it was strong but you could see the cracks of weaknesses trying to break free. "Kylo, I have to make sure she is being evacuated."

Kylo let go of your arm and broke his focus on you. That's right he had responsibilities as well he was a special agent of the First Order. It was as if Kylos mind went blank and couldn't remember a single thing other than you. When you spoke again he snapped out of it. You were going to make sure his mother was safe. Why did that sit well with him? He shouldn't care right?

Stepping back into the ballroom was chaos. People everywhere panicked. You noticed Kylo come in behind you. You both scan the room, neither of your government heads were to be seen or their bodyguards, giving the impression of a successful extraction. Out of nowhere there was another eruption behind you. Turning back you see more flames, Kylo looked at you confused.

"The fire reached the boats."

"Why the f..."

Suddenly you felt your body fly back hitting the wall behind you. A ringing sound drilled into your ears as a pain shot through the back of your head. You didn't move right away trying to assess the situation. Possible head injury, I can move my feet, hands, legs. Finally registering movement and partial sounds you sit up taking in the scene. Half of the ballroom was caving in as lights and electric sparks lit up the room, windows blown out while screams and groans of party guests played on and on like a song stuck on repeat.
