[Deb conversation, a week ago]

He watched Matthias, Samantha, Woodland, and Bailey as they talked to Deb. His heart ached as she told about the accident. Her accident. He watched the different emotions surface on their faces. But his focus was on Matt.

Matt: We're done, Deb.

His eyes widened as he realized what was about to happen. If he could speak, he would've shouted at them. No! Don't do it! Instead, he could only watch.

Deb: Done? Wha-what do you mean 'done'?

Matt: Project: 863 is dead.

NO!! Damn it! No!! Ugh! You fools! He dropped his hands to his sides in frustration. He followed them to Red Base. He knew what was going to happen. Benjamin Cobalt seemed right, for now. Matthias and Cobalt were the same. And seemed to be getting more similar by the minute. At least today they were.

He followed Matt into the Server Room. He watched it being destroyed. And, at that moment, he knew that drastic measures were going to have to be made. You all have pushed me to my limits. I'm afraid I'm going to have to take drastic measures. You just don't seem to listen.

[Friday night, 2:58 am]

He sighed. Not how he had planned for this to go, but... He needed to make a point. And he WAS going to get it across.

Can you keep a secret?

The viciously scrawled words on the wall didn't exactly fill him with pleasure, but he knew they were necessary. Just like... those eighteen years ago. He pushed the thought away. No point in thinking about it now. It was already done, in the past. He couldn't change that, but he could help with Project: 863's future.

[Saturday night, 2:56 am]

This time, anger ran through him. He wasn't that violent, never had been, but he was going to add an edge to this one. Of course, he was mad. He had the right to be. They were not just going to give up Project: 863 like that. They were the only ones who could fix this. Not only that, but Matt had the Absalate. And he needed to know exactly what needed to be done with it. So, this one was 100% necessary.

Ur not listening!

[Sunday night, 2:59 am]

Okay, so he was cutting this one a little close, but he didn't care. Not at this point. He was getting desperate. Why weren't they responding? He felt tears prick his eyes, but nothing fell to his cheeks. Please. Please! This time, please!

Help me

[Monday, early, Sam walks in]

Sam saw the wall, half ignoring the alarm.

Sam: Oh, shut up!

She was half talking to the alarm and the scribbling on the wall. She thought they had left all that behind last week. Apparently not.

He watched, seeing her expression. Finally. Where had they been? Didn't matter. They were here now, and they would see. About time. He gave a small smile of satisfaction and closed his eyes. He faded away from the studio...back to the last place he had been. The car wasn't there anymore, but the parking space was. He went to the exact spot, where he had been sitting. It was the easiest spot to think. About many things. Most of his thoughts were of the past. Syntec, mostly. Nelson, Deb, Benjamin, Wesley... Names that had meant something back then. They still did...just not in the same way.

Nelson, Deb, and Benjamin, in their way, had gone a little crazy...or a lot. And Wes... Well, he tried not to think about that. He couldn't. It hurt. A lot. Accident or not. He turned his thoughts to the people that were now involved. God, they were so similar to what the four of Syntec had been, it wasn't funny. Obviously, stuff was a bit different. But personalities were soo similar. Matthias, shockingly, was so much like Ben, it wasn't funny.

But, it was scary. Both were kind people. Protective of those they cared about. But able to be down to business. Occasionally impulsive...that was the reason for the writings on the wall he had to put. But, the main difference was the reactions to the serum. Matt hadn't gone off the wall. Benjamin, sadly, had.

Another comparison that scared him was Samantha and Deborah. Both, so analytical, and so cautious. Almost to a fault. Both had nearly gotten someone hurt but still managed to save them. Except for Deb...And it had cracked her a little bit. But it was understandable. He prayed something like that wouldn't happen to Sam. He sighed. Needed to shift his thoughts a little.

Woods. Woodland Demars. Few people would think to connect him to Wes. And yet, it made so much sense to connect them. Both designed and built. Both were quiet and caring. Granted, Wes had more openly shown his caring, whereas Woods did it a little quieter, but it was still there. Both could be a hair-tad too emotional when making decisions. Woods, when it had come to the antidote, Wes when trying to save people's lives during the tests at Syntec.

He shook his head with a smile. The times from before. The people now. So much had changed, and yet...was the same.

A cloud passed in front of the sun, reminding him of his actual task. He sighed, knowing that time still marched on...even if it didn't for him. He needed to think about what he was going to say tonight. But first...were THEY going to be there?

He got up and went into Blue Base. He found them talking.

Matt: I think we should stay-

He left. He knew what he needed to know. He went away and waited for The Time. He would be ready. And so would they. Question was, would it go right?
