Here We Go Part 11

[Woods' car, 3:51pm]

Matt: Okay. We need to do some stuff. First, can we go to the studio so I can get some clothes? Really don't want to walk around in a gown. *Chuckles*

Sam: Certainly, but Matt...Are you sure you're okay?

Matt: I feel fine. I'm fine. But first I need some clothes, then we find something so we can watch that tape. But, I think something's up with Wes and Deb. They never came to see me.

Woods and Sam shared a look. Matt noticed.

Matt: What? What is it?

Woods: Wes and Deb haven't been at the studio for a while, Matt.

Matt sat back in his seat, thinking. What could have happened to them?

Matt: Okay. First, we head to the studio. I've got some clothes there. Then, *sighs* we need to figure out how to watch that tape.

Woods: But what about Wes and Deb?

Sam: I think we need to watch the tape, so we can find Wes and Deb, Woods.

Matt: Exactly.

[4 pm, Spellbound Studios]

Matt had gotten changed, and they had grabbed some McDonald's. Now, they were sitting down, trying to figure out what was going on.

Matt: Do either of you remember what happened after we all sat on the floor?

Woods and Sam shared a look.

Woods: We don't remember sitting on the floor, Matt. We remember you passing out, and us having to break out.

Quinn spoke up.

Quinn: I remember us sitting like Matt said.

Sam: So we have two different things remembered.

Matt rubbed his forehead.

Matt: Considering Deb and Wes are gone, one side has to be accurate. Quinn, what do you remember?

Quinn: We all sat down, and then...(He paused, thinking) The door opened...And, Wes, Deb, and Bailey were there. Matt, (he glanced at Matt) Matt, had the black veins all over his face at that point, and...That's all I can remember.

Matt, Sam, and Woods stared. Quinn remembered a lot. Quinn was not used to everyone staring at him, he was the cameraman after all.

Quinn: I have the footage if we want to look it over.

They nodded. They went to his office, and he pulled the unseen footage up.

{Watching the footage; 591: Guess your time is up, isn't it? Matt: Not yet!}

Suddenly, the camera cut. That was the end.

Woods: Well, that explains a lot.

Sam lashed out at him.

Sam: You think?!

Matt: Whoa, whoa! Calm down, Sam!

Sam: Calm down?! We just saw...Oh my God!

She began to cry. Matt knelt next to her.

Matt: Sam. Breathe. We're going to get them back. We're going to get the antidotes. We're going to get this straightened out. Okay?

Sam nodded and wiped her tears away.

Woods: Imma head downstairs, check the warehouses. See if I can find a VHS player.

Matt nodded, then pulled his phone out. He was going to see if they (Deb and Wes) had a phone on them. Sam headed downstairs.

Matt sent the message.

Matt: Where are you, and Deb?

Seconds later, he got a reply.

Wes: Don't worry about that now. Where are you and the others?

Matt: I just broke out of the hospital, and now we're at the studio. But what do you mean "don't worry about it"?

Wes: Anything else?

Matt growled in frustration. Sometimes Wes and Deb acted as they did before meeting them. Like now.

Matt: We found a tape with 08/06/03 on it.

Wes: Watch that first. Once you have, text me. I'll get back to it as soon as I can. Deb and I are safe. That's all I can tell you now. Good luck, Matt.

Matt stared at his phone, knowing the conversation was over. Sam had gone to help Woods look for the VCR. Matt headed down the stairs and found them sitting around a table with a VCR sitting on it.

Woods: We found one.

He was grinning, then he noticed Matt's face.

Sam: Matt, are you okay?

Matt: Yeah. Not so sure about Deb and Wes though.

Sam: What do you mean?

Matt went over the conversation with Wes via text.

Matt: He seemed to be awfully cryptic. I think he and Deb are in trouble.

Sam: But he wanted us to see the tape first?

Matt: He made that clear. The tape comes first.

Woods: That doesn't sound like him, though. Do you think...591 got them and took them to the new Syphus hideout?

Matt: Probably. But since Wes insisted we watch this first..that's what we're going to do.

[Red Base]

Woods had managed to hook the VCR up to a TV, and they tested it to make sure the VCR still worked. And it did. They put in the new tape, watching nervously. It seemed to be security footage of the Mountaineer before it had been found. Back when Syntec had seemingly owned the whole of units around the current Spellbound Studios. A person in a lab coat walked out of one of the Syntec buildings close to the Mountaineer. They got in, but there seemed to be someone in dark clothes already there. After several moments, a bright flash illuminated the car. Sam gasped, and everyone's mouth dropped open. A gunshot. The tape then went to black. It was over.

Matt: What did we just watch?

Woods: A murder, apparently. My God.

Sam: Who was that?

Matt: I don't know. Other than I need to tell Wes.

Matt, texting: We saw a murder on the tape. It was of someone walking to a mountaineer, getting in, then being shot. What was that?
