It was the night before Griffin started his new life in New York. The New York City. Jennifer made a special dinner for the four of them. Well, technically she didn't. The takeout pizza place did.
"So. One less mouth to feed tomorrow." Jim said as he took a bite out of his slice of pizza. Griffin glared at his dad. He wasn't probably the type of dude who should've had kids.
Jennifer sighed and gave a sad look to Jim. "Griffy? Will I get to come and live with you in New York? I heard they have an awesome library full of books!" Aslan looked at Griffin, his eyes full of hope.
Griffin chuckled. "Sorry bud. It's a one bedroom dorm. Plus you have little league to do." Aslan pouted and put his head on the table.
"Aslan, sit up and eat the food we bought. Be grateful." Jim hissed. On command, the blonde sat up and took a small bite out of his pizza.
Aslan's eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! The coach says I'm his absolute favourite player! I'm the best one on the field! That must mean I'm the best right Griffy?"
Griffin smiled. "Of course it does bud!"

The next day Griffin frowned as Aslan hugged him tightly. "Don't go Griffy!". Griffin hated the idea of leaving his brother alone with his father until who knows when. Once Griffin has the money, he's getting his brother the hell out of Cape Cod.
Griffin hugged his brother back. "Don't worry bud, I'll be back in November for Thanksgiving. Then again in December for Christmas and New Years. Isn't that exciting?" He gave a small smile to Aslan as he pulled away.
Aslan sniffed and nodded. "Yeah..but I still won't see you until then. Which I don't want. I want to stay with you."
Griffin sniffled, and patted his brother on the back. "Once I graduate and get the money, you'll come live with me. I promise. Besides, you have Little League. I'm sure you're excited for that."
Aslan nodded. "I am. I'll just miss you Griffy..a lot."
That sentence nearly broke Griffin. But he kept a small smile on his face and fought back any tears that threatened to spill. "I'll miss you too, Aslan."
Just then, the front door to their small house opened. Jim stood in the doorway. His arms crossed. "Griffin. It's a five hour drive. By time you get there it'll be 6 at night." His voice was gruff and sounded a bit angry.
Griffin nodded, and hugged Alsan. "Bye Aslan. Love you. I'll be back soon."
Griffin stood up, dusted off his pants, and grabbed the car keys from Jim. His truck was all packed. He gave one last smile to Aslan. Then he walked to his truck and got in.
He started it, and slowly drove away. Leaving Cape Cod behind him, and little did Griffin know, the Aslan he knew.
Authors Note
This chapter was short as fuck. My apologies. Next chapter will be longer. I just needed a storyline to sort of start off with :)
