It's been a few years since the incident. Griffin has had Aslan come to his shared apartment a few times. The boy fell in love with the city.
Max ended up getting engaged to his girlfriend, Jessica. Jessica moved in with Max, so they needed to find their own apartment. Luckily they got one in the same building. The three of them have get togethers every other day, and play cards, watch movies, and that sort of stuff.
Griffin has only been back to Cape Cod for Christmas to see his dad. He thought it would be a good thing considering he's a child, and his dad is, well, his dad.
He's gone and seen Aslan roughly four times a year, and Aslan as come to his apartment twice. The blonde called Griffin every day after school, or after Griffin finished work.
Griffin himself finished up his schooling and now works along side Max. However, Griffin is a police officer, and Max is his detective. They work great together, and the two were basically inseparable.
Long story short, Griffin's life was going quite swell. Until, it wasn't.

He awoke as he heard his alarm clock go off, signaling he had to get up and get ready for work. He groaned as he reached over to shut the damn thing off. After a few failed attempts, he managed to turn it off.
Sitting up, he stretched and rubbed his eyes. A feeling deep in his bones unnerved him. Almost like today something bad would happen. But he pushed it aside. "I'm a fucking cop. Of course something will happen. It's never an uneventful day."
He pushed himself up and hopped into the shower. Then proceeded to get ready for the day. Once that was done he made his way to the office.
Once he arrived he made a mental note that today he had a meeting with Dino Golzine. A very well known man here in New York. Rich, but kind of shady. He always kind of threw Griffin the wrong vibes.
Max soon walked into the office, and handed Griffin a coffee. "So, anything to do today?"
Griffin nodded. "Yeah, we got a meeting with Mr. Golzine. Don't like the dude, but oh well. Can't complain."
His buddy nodded. "Yeah. Something about the dude is fishy. But he's a millionaire in New York. They're all fishy." Griffin nodded as he took a sip of his coffee.
Max had a point. All of the millionaires they worked close to were kind of fishy. Maybe it was the fact they used their power and their wealth to basically control the police force to listen to as they say. It was sad, knowing that if they didn't, their funding would drop dramatically.
Griffin sighed. "Might as well make our way to his manor for the damn meeting. Let's go."

Griffin felt very uncomfortable. It was just him, Max, and Dino sitting in this huge meeting room. Who needs this in a house anyway? Or at least one this sized?
"Thank you for meeting me officer Callenreese." Griffin nodded. Dino scared him. He was a built, big, male. He looks like the type you wouldn't want to mess with.
"Of course, Mr. Golzine. What is it you wanted to discuss?" Griffin wanted to get his ass out of here as soon as he possibly could.
Dino made a small sound, Griffin couldn't tell if it was a sigh or a grunt. "The streets gangs are acting up again. I'd prefer if they were tame, or at least calmed down a little. You officers seem to be slacking on the job."
