"We both wish to avoid any wars between our kind, however, others want to distrupt the peace we have now. I need your help to prevent another war."
Erik wasn't answering. His unfaltering anger was getting out of control, yet he struggles to keep his sanity at bay. If he was the same in the past he would have attacked him, king or not.
"At what cost? My kind are being treated as leather goods! Exported and then discarded when it deems useless! And you expect me to join your side? I will not tarnish those who died in your kinds hands by joining allegiance with you!" He whisperly screamed, making sure that he would not startle his beloved mate.
"Alpha Erik we both have the same as aspiration. To create a safer world for our kin. For our mate. I am fully aware of the faults of my council and they shall be punished accordingly. I would like for you to know..."
Vincent's eyes had turn bloody crimson as he turned his hands into a first and said;
"I also want blood to those who betrayed the covenant."
Erik was a wise man. Although he seems to have some temper issues, he still knows a great deal when he sees one. His anger have not yet subsided but this shall not cloud his judgements.
"If want alliance, fine. I shall. However... I have conditions." Erik firmly said to Vincent.
"I'm listening..." Vincent said, still showing his bloodlust.
"The nobles... They are mine to kill. This way I can avenge my kind."
And without second thought Vincent answered in chorus.
"Done."
They took each other's hands and gripped each other's tightly. Signifying that a bond has been made, and an allegiance has been formed.
"The Gathering is the time when they will attack. By then we should construct a plan to counter them." Vincent explained to Erik.
They slowly walked back to their designated carriage, but before they separated Vincent said to Erik;
"I have a spy, and you have a mole. We'll use it to our advantage."
They nodded in approval and Erik took his lover back to his arms and climed into their carriage. Although Seth and Stephen were saddened by their separation, yet they know they'll soon be together after this trip.
"So... What did you two talked about?" Stephen asked who was attached to Vincent's body, reclaiming the heat he just missed a while ago.
"Political stuff..." Vincent discreetly answered Stephen. He wasn't lying though, he just does not want to worry his beloved that he was about to go to war.
"Hmmm..." Stephen suspiciously glared at Vincent but did not push any further. If he does not want to tell him, he should respect that. Instead he just cuddled with Vincent tighter, trying to remember his scent since he'll be missing this for a while.
...
The ride went smoothly. No monsters showed up, that was expected since the great mage was protecting this mountain. Erik and Vincent already knew that the mage knows of their arrival. After two days of traveling they reached a huge spiral tree at the peak of the mountain. It has windows and stairs and it felt like the tree was alive and shifting. There were no doors so Seth and Stephen were perplexed by the structure.
Not long after the tree untangled its spiral appearance and there revealed an entrance, and inside came out an old man dressed like a noble.
"That's not how I imagined the mage would look like." Seth whispered to Stephen.
