Now the last chapter ended with Vincent, the Vampire King sought with the intentions to annihilate those vampires who would dare lay their hands on his possessions. He commanded his loyal servant Welter to find the two unnamed torturers and was to be brought to the west wing of his castle. Upon finding the paired vampires on their knees ready to beg for forgiveness, Welter had teleported the two and was now present at the king's presence. When they raise their heads and their gaze fell to the murderous glare of their ruthless king, they immediately cower in fear and bowed their heads in hope that they can please the king with their submission. Much to their displeasure the king was no way of forgiving this docile vermin and was to be executed immediately. Though they begged repeatedly, their please were also discarded.
To escape their tragic death would require a miracle or something that worth a bargain to their king. Fortunately for one of the persecuted vermin, he had some information that might be beneficial to the king. He gathered his courage and said;
"My king, hear me. I have a piece of valuable information that may help you shortly. In exchange for my life. I ask for you to spare me."
Vincent halted his actions. He was about to pluck his pumping heart out of his heaving chest when this scoundrel offered something he found it with interest.
"Speak." He said with his gravelly voice.
He made no delay and with hope in his tearful eyes he confesses;
"I bring news against the recalcitrant aristocrat, from the Western Border."
Vincent finds it amusing how this underling tries his best to save his skin. Selling his identity is equal to death once the house of Gilbert would know of his betrayal.
He gestures his hand to proceed from his gathered information and gave him a look that would mean once thing. 'Fail to please me and I'll make sure I'll take my time in killing you.'
He gulped as he gathers the words.
"They are planning on a rebellion against you, my king. They are gathering men and women turning them into a low-class vampire. They are slowly creating an army, they are slowly reaching the numbers of your fleet." Said the vampire as he was please by his confession. He thought that he was now safe from the hands of death.
"I am already of the rising rebellion. You've failed to please me, weakling."
He grabs the vampire and threw him to the wall causing the concrete to crack. He reluctantly struggles to escape but was grabbed by his anklet and was once again thrown but this time it was at a huge window. He manages to grab by the window frame, breaking his fall. When Vincent had enough he ordered Welter to continue the deed.
Welter at a fast speed grab once again the vampire by the neck and was about to crack his jugular when he tries his luck again.
"there's more!"
"Speak fast, my master's patience is running low." Said Welter to the vampire.
"Y-Your mate."
This immediately caught his attention and not a second Vincent was now the one holding the life of the mongrel.
"What about him." He said in a vicious tone.
However, the vampire could not speak because of the pressure from his neck. Vincent manages to clasp his throat with his strength going out of control. He slams the creature on the floor upon realizing the reason for his silence. The vampire cough for air.
"Y-your mate... is... (cough)... in danger. Lord Gilbert has hired assassins and is now working in the palace as we speak. They were tasked to assassinate your mate... most of the council agreed that he is not worthy to be your mate, so they formed a mutiny against you."
After he was finished Vincent was enraged.
They dare to defy me!
His face was calm but his eyes were like roaring storms. He left the room in haste and went back to his quarters. Once he made sure that he was safe stayed by his side until he could figure out how he could keep him safe. He looked at his peaceful state and watched him sleep. His anger quickly subsided... for now. But he has sworn to himself that whoever decided to join that rebellion will not be shown mercy. He'll play blind for now. After all, it's best to attack when they never saw it coming.
