valeria had her legs on alexis' legs and her upper body was leaned against danny. she yawned and snuggled her head into his lap as he wrapped his arms around her and traced her tattoos.principal richardson was standing in front of them as he talked about the debate and the honor it would take to be class president.
"we'll use this debate as a teaching moment, so thank you to our ap government teachers." principal richardson clapped his hands and expected others to join, which didn't happen. "just me? okay."
"please welcome candidate ruben martinez."
valeria winced as jasmine started cheering, very loudly might she add. "it's way too early for this shit." she muttered under her breath.
"ain't that your lil' boyfriend?" danny jokingly whispered in her ear and valeria glared up at him, "you're not funny."
"now please welcome candidate jamal turner."
jamal and his football friends came out the school's doors and music started to play as he boxed the air and tried to hype up the small crowd which evidently worked as everyone minus valeria's table started to cheer.
principal richardson chuckled and waved his hand, "all right. settle down. candidates what is the biggest issue facing students today?"
ruby took a step forward, "school safety. we need more security guards and crosswalks."
"'cause people can't see you over their dashboards?"
a small laugh left valeria's mouth and she covered it with a small cough.
jaxon, one of jamal's minions laughed obnoxiously and pointed at ruby. "cause you're little!"
"-and we need a dress code. so no one is targeted for wearing the wrong colors."
"dress code?" jamal questioned, "coming from the guy whose girlfriend dresses him."
"whipped!"
