Valeria had spent most of her night crying in the arms of her two closest friends, at the moment.
when she finished balling her eyes out, she left Jamal's house and immediately started to walk to Ruby's. Her feet were smacking heavily against the concrete and her eyes only looked ahead which definitely wasn't the safest option considering it was almost 11 and there was a high chance that some creepy weirdo could have been following her.
but at this point in time she simply didn't care.
valeria was beyond angry. she was angry at ruby for being so secretive, she was angry at cesar for not telling her, she was angry at oscar for lying to her and most of all she was angry at herself for being so naive to believe him. she felt undeniably stupid for she knew what type of world they lived in and she was aware there weren't many options for people like her, but she had hope. she had so much hope that one day they could leave and escape from all of this but that was a dream for children and that was a title she felt she couldn't claim.
she drew her fist back taking a deep breath to calm herself before knocking on the black fenced door.
"Mija what are you doing here? Are you okay?" abuelita asked looking down at valeria with concern written all over her features.
Val nodded her head, "is ruby home?" She asked while stepping inside the warm house that smelled faintly of cinnamon.
Abuelita sighed pointing towards his bedroom door, mumbling something about "niñas locas" when she watched Valeria march her small feet to the bedroom.

valeria's hand hovered on the doorknob she hesitated to open the door when she heard two voices inside causing her eyebrows to raise.
when she opened the door she could've sworn her heart stopped for a second as she saw her boyfriend failing horrendously to take off his multicolored buttoned down shirt as his "cousin" watched.
Ruby's eyes almost shot out of his head when he saw his pink haired girlfriend standing in the doorway of his room with her mouth dropped. When Olivia finally stopped her yapping to look at Ruby's facial expression she turned around to see Val causing her to lift her hand to wave at her. She didn't have any ill intentions so she didn't quite wrap her small mind around what was going through the couples heads at the moment.
"What the fuck? Are you cheating on me, with your cousin?!" She shouted.
This caused abuelita's eyes to widen as she stood in the kitchen. She soon shrugged her shoulders and shook her head grabbing another chip to put into her mouth. "None of my business."
Ruby immediately opened his mouth to object but was interrupted by no lip Olivia.
"No, oh my gosh no I just spilled salsa on his shirt and-"
Valeria silenced her by putting up her hand. "You don't get to speak just leave."
Olivia finally used her teeny tiny brain to process everything so she thought it would be best to just keep her mouth shut and leave the room. "Sorry," she mumbled before closing the door after her.
"Princessa let me explain everything I can assure you that..." Ruby paused his rambling and soon his eyes filled with worry. "W-why are your eyes so puffy?" He asked taking a few steps closer to her he cupped her face in his hands causing Val to instantly push him away from her.
"Why didn't you tell me Cesar was jumped in?"
Ruby's hands immediately started to clam up. His mind was racing all over the place as he avoided eye contact with her to hide the overwhelming shame he felt running through his body.
The action caused her blood to boil, "Look at me!" valeria shouted.
"I was going to tell you val, I just don't think it's fair for me to have to carry your baggage." ruby instantly wanted to take his words back when he saw the look on his girlfriend's face.
"My baggage?" she repeated in disbelief.
ruby once again tried to reach for her hand but she quickly moved away from him, "bebe I didn't mean it like-"
"Fuck you ruby. I didn't know I had to give you a fucking contract to show what you were getting yourself into when we started dating." her voice started to crack, and so to save any more dignity the had left she quickly turned on her heel and stormed out of his room and out of his front door.
after a long moment of silence abuelita popped her head in the doorway of Ruby's room giving him her best reassuring smile she offered up her tortilla bag, "chip?"

valeria wrapped her arms around herself, the cold wind smacking her in the face making her hair stick to her wet cheeks.
when she got home, she noticed the scattered glass bottles on the lawn she sent a swift kick to each one that she came across. going up the steps she was welcomed home by Oscar, who was sat on the couch his leg was bouncing anxiously and his eyes were glued to the entrance of the front door.
"Where the hell have you been?" He asked angrily quickly standing up to get in her face.
valeria hung her head low as her whole body shook.
Oscar furrowed his eyebrows and crouched down to her height, "Ay what's wrong with you?" He asked the anger slowly leaving his body.
"you jumped him in."
Oscar stayed silent making another one of his stupid facial expressions which would have made valeria laugh if she wasn't so upset. "You lied to me. You? Of all people."
"...I was gonna sit you down and tell you," oscar said running a hand over his face.
valeria started to tune him out and walked right past him and headed to her room, shut the door behind her and allowed herself to fall face first onto her bed. she honestly didn't know why she was taking it so hard but at this moment she genuinely felt like she couldn't trust the people closest to her. they shut her out, they closed the store, they shut the door, and left her to run amok, bamboozled and hoodwinked.

I don't know if y'all noticed but I don't like Olivia, I feel like I'm not making that clear enough. Also, I feel like I made valeria a lil dramatic but she's barely a freshmen and we all know how they are 😗
