Finally, having his wife alone, Goku asks the Ox-King to watch Gohan and Goten for the night. All he desired was a night alone with his wife - that was it.
Taking his wife's hand, he began their hike after making their way to the general location. He didn't want to ruin the surprise quite yet; he wanted to surprise her!
"Where are we goin', Goku-sa? Ya never said. Ya just said that we were goin' as soon as my father showed up! It ain't make no sense!" She proclaims, trying to connect the dots.
Shifting his hand, he intertwines their fingers together. A few occasional glances, and he grins. He imagines his wife's reaction to their night out. This was long overdue! They hadn't had a day alone since...since before he died! Yes, they had done it a few times before, but the kids were asleep, and here he would be able to make the best of it all, or that's what he hoped anyway.
Entering a secluded park, he walks alongside his wife. "It's just ya an' me tonight, Chi. We've needed this for a while now."
Cheeks turn crimson, her eyes widen in embarrassment. How could he be so forward when there could be anyone here right now?! "Whatcha mean? We've gotten plenty of time together, especially with the kids."
A sideways glance, and he's already gotten his point across. Chi-Chi couldn't be serious about not knowing what he was indicating! He knew she wasn't that dense! Short, the onyx-haired Saiyan grunts. "Y'know perfectly well what I mean."
Ignoring his comment, her eyes drift to their surroundings. She didn't like where this was going. Why was he so clingy? He had never been this way before he died the first time and now suddenly he was totally someone new after the second time it happened! What was his deal? Trying to escape his grip, she has a bad feeling about his desire to come here. Couldn't he see that she was still adjusting to the fact he was here?!
"Chi-Chi." His voice, deep and short - he pulls her closer. "Whatcha doin'?.."
"...ya worry too much, Goku-sa - that's all." A horrible excuse. He'd see right through.
"...do I make ya uncomfortable?" He stops in their tracks, pulling her close to his chest.
Refusing to make eye contact, she locks her gaze on his chest. SHe couldn't have him seeing her so anxious. It was humiliating having her now struggling to be so open with him. At the same time, he wanted every opportunity he could get with her. "Why...why are ya like this, Goku-sa? Ya never were this way with me before...."
Lifting her chin, he's oblivious to what she's asking. "Whatcha mean, Chi-Chi? I've always been in love with ya."
"..." Silent, she wants so badly to knock some sense into him but refrains from doing so. "...ya don't see anythin' changin' from when we first got married? Our relationship has changed so much, Goku-sa."
Expression blank, he refrains from saying anything at first. He hadn't thought of it that way, but all he could tell her now was that he was head over heels for her now! "Of course, it's changed silly! I didn't know ya much when we first got married! An' it was new havin' someone take care of me! The life style was a change too! All those new rules! Man...that was sure difficult! Ya didn't let me off easily either!"
He sure was a lot more to handle than she had initially intended, but it was worth all of it. She wouldn't change a thing about their relationship! She loved him with every fiber of her. Resting a hand against his cheek, she softly smiles. "It was all of it."
Hands traveling to her waist, he lifts her and spins her. Pulling her into a close embrace, he pecks her forehead and purrs. He loved moments like these where it was just the two of them and no one to interrupt them. She was the love of his life, after all. Setting her down, he coos into her ear. "I love ya, Chi-Chi. I always will."
