A single ray of sunlight was enough to pry her eyes open that morning.

Usually, she would've groaned and rolled to the other side: having the sun in her eyes first thing in the morning easily made the top ten of things that annoyed her to no end.

And that's exactly what she did, only to be met by a sight more radiant than the sun itself.

Seonghwa's limbs were sprawled across the bed as he peacefully slept on his stomach, the realization that she had hogged the sheets in her sleep hitting her as her eyes traveled on his naked body.

She immediately righted her-unconscious- wrongdoings and carefully placed the blanket on him so as not to wake him up, then rested her head on the pillows as she quietly admired his sleeping figure. She stayed like that only a few minutes, occasionally running a hand through his hair as she was almost lulled back to sleep by the soft rumbling of the sea, her mind musing that it was probably very early in the morning anyway and a few more minutes wouldn't hurt.

His back was still bearing the signs of their nightly endeavors, as was her own body: her legs felt sore as she shuffled them under the covers, a few marks blooming in the inner part of her thighs.

Carys stifled a giggle between the pillows as the memories of the night before passed before her eyes: it was almost as if she could still feel his hands roam her body with reckless abandon, bringing her pleasure beyond anything she had ever experienced.

However, she must've done a terrible job at being quiet: her train of thoughts was interrupted by Seonghwa's eyes slowly fluttering open, a smile forming on his lips as he turned towards her.

"You could've told me you were a thief of blankets" he mumbled, his voice deep and raspy.

"M'sorry" she replied.

She marveled at him sneaking a hand on the back of her neck to bring her closer and leave a kiss on her forehead.

"Did you sleep well?"

She hummed in response, hiding her face in the crook of his neck as her arms wrapped around his shoulders, her fingertips barely being tickled by his wings.

"Are you hungry?" he asked, only to be met with another half-hearted hum of agreement.

Let's say that she was hungry, indeed, but that would've involved her getting up and leaving her lover's warm embrace: something her mind and body were more than reluctant to do.

"Let's stay like this for a while" she replied, placing a kiss on his jawline.

The feeling of his hands gently stroking her hair was nothing less than heavenly, but alas, it was short-lived. He was getting up, something that she fiercely fought against by holding him impossibly close.

"It's my understanding that you don't want breakfast in bed then, am I correct?"

She would've answered with a no, but the grumbling of her stomach told a whole different story.

"Ugh...fine"

He laughed at her as she turned around, face plummeting into the pillows. He came back some minutes later, dressed in a pair of sweatpants and breakfast ready to be served on a tray.

She shifted on the bed so she could get up, her attempt to cover up and mask the obvious pain of moving at the same time eliciting a laugh from Seonghwa.

"Am I that funny?" she finally asked, a hint of irritation in her voice "This is your fault"

His laugh only grew louder as he took to the closet and found her a shirt to wear.
