Carys had figured that facing everyone else in an empty club after what had happened in that room would be the most embarrassing experience of her entire life. This is why she was so surprised to see the party still going on strong and Jongho greeting her at the bottom of the stairs, Seonghwa wobbling after her with still a tint of blush adorning his cheeks.
"There you two are! Come on, the night's still young and I think it needs some karaoke!" the young god slurred his words: maybe it was the alcohol talking for him.
"Showoff" Seonghwa muttered.
"I'm sure you have a wonderful voice" he tried to persuade her, but she didn't know how to reply as she was still a bit out of breath.
"Not really, to be honest"
"Can't be worse than Zeus. He's not the god of music for a reason... come on, it'll be fun!" he pleaded.
"Fine, but one song only, and don't blame me if I sound bad" she finally agreed, glancing at Seonghwa one last time before being practically snatched away and brought towards a karaoke booth that she was sure it wasn't even there before. Now that she thought about it, the appearance of the club kept changing: it felt like every time she went there it was a different bar. Was she the only one sober enough to notice? She just shrugged and put that thought aside: she had learned a while ago not to question the ways of a god.
Unsurprisingly, she couldn't see Mingi and his wife anywhere. Maybe Seonghwa was right... or so she thought until she saw Mingi holding onto a microphone for dear life, shouting the lyrics of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and Ariadne accompanying his performance with a tambourine.
She quietly sat in the corner next to a very amused San, enjoying the moment when the microphone was effectively torn from his hands by Jongho.
"You're not butchering this one, my friend" he declared.
Mingi sulked for a second, but then turned to his wife "Honey, will you pass me the tambourine?"
He was bound to be let down since she held the instrument to her chest, showing her tongue at him.
"Ugh, fine I'll get more drinks... Oh hey Carys, done already?"
She was pretty sure her face was on fire as he shot a knowing look at her, his signature mischievous smile making it hard to make eye contact with anything but her lap.
"Stop it!"
It was Ariadne who saved her, handing her a second microphone.
"Don't bother with him. But if you do want to talk about it later..."
"No, I'm good, thanks" she talked, the mic making her voice echo in the rather spacious booth.
She glanced at Seonghwa who was just outside, talking to Yunho who she hadn't seen all night. A quick wave at him was all she could afford before the next song, a duet, started playing.
"If you're good the next drinks are on me!" Jongho whispered to her, only to start singing right after.
At that moment, she knew two things: one, she was going to pay for her drinks. Two, saying that he had the voice of an angel was a terrible understatement, offensive even. Still, she tried her best, and after a while, she was comfortable enough to sway to the music as Ariadne hyped both of them up. Even San got up after a while, waving what seemed to be another tambourine that had escaped Mingi's sight.
"See? It wasn't that bad!" Jongho exclaimed in delight once they were done "Though you were just a teeny tiny bit flat at the end"
"And you were...perfect" she managed to mumble as she was a little out of breath.
