Have you ever looked up at the sky while it rained on your way home from school? Hoping to see something in the sky that's different, like a dragon casually going for a fly in the dark cotton clouds; or look over at a tree to see pixies taking refuge till the rain falters; or when you pass over a bridge, you look under it to see a troll. Well I have, everyday since I moved to this neighborhood, a year ago. Walking in the rain was the most satisfying thing to do, especially after a stressful day at school. Having no homework was relieving. Although walking in the rain has a downside, my clothes and wings are getting soaked. I wouldn't have minded if it was a sweatshirt and jeans but I didn't bring my sweater today.
I was walking up my driveway, my house was of brick with a small wooden porch covered by a brown roof as ivy crawled up the sides. As I made my way to the front door I was surrounded by lavender rose bushes, I walked up the wooden steps digging through the pockets of my bag, "Where did I put my keys?" I mumbled out. Once I had found my key that lurked between three others, and unlocked the old oak door. I entered the house and locked it once again. Walking up to my room I took off my shoes and socks. Having to take another key out I opened my door, the scent of vanilla filling my nostrils. Once I walked in I had locked my door once again. It's not like my parents will notice anyway, they don't care about what I do as long as it's not dating a Kang, or I'm not in the way. I forced my legs over to my closet, having to avoid the ivy and wisteria dangling from the ceiling. Disrobing, I made my way over to my dresser 'Why can't everything just be in the same spot, all this walking is killing me. I was searching my drawers for my leggings, having found them I made my way back over to the closet to grab my sweatshirt. I wasn't in the mood to do anything for the rest of the day, yet when I exited my closet I saw my mirror across the way have ripples as if it's surface was water "ugh, you just had to choose now" I let a small smile slip onto my lips as I got into a running position. Once I had broken into a sprint I made my way towards the mirror, jumping once I was a foot away, closing my eyes till I felt the feeling of grass between my toes. I opened my eyes to see the scene I was all too familiar with but still loved nonetheless.
The sun beaming onto the little cove created by an abandoned roller coaster being consumed by plants. The little animals hopping around in the grass, and the birds chirping helped make it feel like home and forget all the negativity I had. I looked over by the bushes in the back and saw my beautiful boyfriend drawing on a canvas with his wings behind him. Without him my world would always be dull. I fondly smiled towards him not noticing I was staring till I he was in front of me waving his hand in my face. "Beautiful you're lost again," "Of course I was, have you looked into the mirror lately?" I looked up at him as I wrapped my arms around his torso. "How was school today love" "Same as it usually is, stressful and acting like we hate each other sucks, but I understand why we must do it." I grumbled. I could see the frown form on his lips "about that, I don't want to hide anymore, our families can suck it" I looked up at him shocked, but couldn't help the fact my wings perked up, causing him to giggle "pretending like we're enemies just because our families have been for decades is ridiculous, I love you Y/N L/N. And I hope one day you'll be Y/N Kang." My wings fluttered a bit when I heard him add his name to mine "I love you too Yeosang, you're my one and only" "and you're mine."
I should probably explain our story, Yeosang and I are from two families that aren't exactly friends. It is foretold in our past that we're natural enemies, and naturally born to hate each other. But the case between Yeosang and I was basically love at first sight, with how cheesy that sounds. We didn't know each other's last name when I moved in next door last year, he had shown me around the neighborhood, where a good place to get a bite was, he even had to show me around the high school, multiple times since I kept getting lost. Him and I were inseparable, even when we found out who each other really were. We didn't mind about the issues our family had, which is why we made our mirror realm where we could be together for as long as we wanted and when we left time would take place from the moment we left. Yeosang and I share the love of abandoned places and our first official date was at an amusement park so we combined the two for our hideout.
"You know you never answered my question darling" Yeosang looked at me and smiled "It was like any other day, although in Literature we learned about Romeo and Juliet, Mingi elbowed me and told me that it's like our relationship. Since their parents were natural enemies and all, although I hope we don't end the same way they do" "Mingi is the adorable tall elf, right ." I cocked my head up at him with a smirk on my face "yes he is, and don't look at me like that love" "why not?" "You know why" My eyebrow cocked "do I now? I must've forgotten. Oh wait is it because it makes your wings flutter, I gently ran my fingers against the veins within his wings "Y/N, don't. Not here" I giggled at his little growl as I continued doing my actions. He was a blushing mess as he subtly started to growl. I was having fun watching his facial features change, until he grabbed my wrists "No" he growled "you know we can't till we're married, don't torture me like this" I looked down at the grass, I knew the rules we had to follow but I didn't want to. "I know" I mumbled " Hey, please don't be upset," he lifted my head to look at him "I want to, trust me I really do. But if we wait till we're married it'll be better love. And I want you to have the best." I smiled at him with subtle tears in my eyes. I didn't deserve to have him "You are my future Y/N" "you are mine", I wrapped my arms around his torso once again making sure not to graze his wings again, as he wrapped his arms around me. I felt safe with him, his scent calmed me. I was almost on the verge of falling asleep in his arms till I felt him start to graze his fingers on my wings, causing me to blush and whimper, tightening my grip on him "Yeosang stop," I said through whimpers "why should I? It's ok for you to play with mine, but when I play with yours it's not?" "Please Yeosang, I'm sorry, just please s-s-stop" I was becoming a mess the more he played with my wings, my legs were shaking, and my head was spinning. Whoever said Karma's a bitch was definitely correct. This was torture, I was near collapsing to the ground till I heard a laugh and a stop in his motions. I stood there in his arms breathing heavy "you're an asshole" I breathed "no I'm not, I just did what you did to me." " A female's wings are more sensitive than the male's, you know this." "Indeed I do, but it's still fun feeling you shake from my touch, the tighter your grip gets trying to keep yourself from falling. The little whimpers you make are music to my ears." I looked up and gave him a death glare causing him to giggle,"You know what, you shake when I play with your wings, you also growl, yet you don't hear me tell you that your growls are music to me or how I love it when your eyes grow dark" my eyes grew wide not truly realizing what I just said till it was to late. Yeosang had smirked and cocked his eyebrow "so that's why you do it" I gulped, if looks could kill I'd be so dead. I started walking backwards from him "I don't know what you're talking about" "oh you don't huh, then why are you backing away from me?" I continued my actions till I was flush against a metal beam, only now regretting choosing this spot for our place. Yeosang now had me trapped between his arms with his leg between mine so I couldn't duck and run, I mentally cursed myself for letting my wings get wet in the rain. "My lovely queen, what's wrong? Your cheeks are red, and you're hot" he dared ask me that question as he felt my forehead. He knew exactly what was going on, we both ended up in this situation at least once a month. I looked right into his eyes with a straight face looking up at his head occasionally as if looking at something "what are you looking at" he questioned me, cocking his head questionably "there's a bug in your hair" that's when I was able to get free from his grip, turning around and climbing up the side of the coaster. "Sike" I yelled down to him as I started to climb inside knowing he couldn't reach me by flying. I looked down to the ground, noticing Yeosang walking through the bars on the ground so he could climb directly to me. I smiled down at him "climb baby, I know you can" I set my foot on a bar across from me and pulled myself up and rotated so I could look down and watch him till he was nose to nose with me. "I'm faster than you love," "well I'd hope so, if you're counting on me to be fast then we're screwed" I looked down at his lips then his eyes, only to notice he was doing the same. I smiled and connected our lips. He is my everything and I'm so happy I have him.
