"Y/n, please-"
Y/n closed the door, forcing the older woman out.
Their vision was obscured by bandages that hoped to heal the electro burn marks along their skin, but they knew it would take too long.
Unlike their mother, the maids, the soldiers, they didn't have time.
They knew they had to escape Inazuma. If they went to Watasumi Island, they'd be putting the people there in danger. If they stayed in the mansion, they'd be putting themself in danger.
Narukami Island had a port, did it not?
-------------------------------------------------------------
There had been a night like this time ago.
Y/n didn't remember how long- hell, they barely even remember how old they are sometimes.
Today marked their tenth birthday- not that anyone was there to celebrate it.
While Kazuo left a small gift for them, Y/n hadn't been able to recieve it. After all, Kazuo and Matsuo were sentenced to death after Y/n survived the slash.
Y/n could only hope they'd do the same thing that Ren did.
They pushed things that they found important into their bag. The book, a plush, and a fresh pair of clothes just in case.
They rubbed all the electro symbols off their clothes to cut ties with their mother. All that was left was one problem.
Their hands ran through their (h/c) hair. It was long from having not been cut- their mother preferred it long so it could glow like hers did.
Y/n sat in front of the mirror, pulling out a knife.
No longer would they be controlled by someone barely in their life.
Slice.
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" Inizu hurried to the Tenshukaku.
Two soldiers blocked her way.
"Please! I need to speak to the Shogun!"
"State your reasons."
The soldiers were unmoving; unwanting, to allow the woman to pass.
"Shogun!" Inizu called out to the barricaded doors.
"It's about Y/n!"
The doors slid open, and the faint lavender eyes of the face of Inazuma peered through.
"If they have disappeared from your care again, I'll have you executed."
Inizu's time-glass was tipped over that day. Now, it belonged to someone else.
----------------------------------------------------------------
If Y/n had been told that going through Ritou was this hard, they would've just made a boat theirself.
Even after providing passes, the soldiers were unmoving.
"Sorry kid, you need a parent to pass through." The soldier had said.
But Y/n had already gotten this far.
"Ow- you little brat!"
Y/n ran past the now kneeling soldier, who was clutching his knee.
They ran past other soldiers who seemed to get the motif and chased after them.
They almost felt like someone was trying to burn the string of their progress, but they hopped ahead. The action made a soldier topple over the edge of the pier and fall into the calm waters of the ocean.
They hurried down the pier still, giving a wave to the fish seller while they ran. He gave a look of realization, and gave a smile and a wave back.
He was helpful in their last attempt to escape, so they knew to trust him.
In one swift action, they disappeared into a crate. While at the time, they hadn't been able to read the writing, they would later learn it said this;
'Expensive Sakura Wine. Shipped To Mondstadt VIA Fatui.'
The soldier from earlier caught up, wheezing out the little breath he was able to get.
The fish seller looked up, "Good morning sir! Would you like some of Inazuma's freshest fish?"
"Shut your fish-liking trap," The soldier cursed, standing up straight, "Have you seen a kid with (h/c) hair running around here?"
"There's a lot of kids around here with (h/c) hair," The fish seller chuckled, "So yes, I have."
"I'm looking for a kid with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes," The soldier pinched his fingers together, "Tell me what you know so I can write a report of Today's events."
"I am Obata," Obata explained, before smiling, "I saw a kid with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes run-" He pointed to where the soldier came from, "- that way."
"Are you fucking kidding me- thank you," The soldier put a hop into his stance before running down that way.
Obata stood there for a moment, before letting go of a breath and walking over to the boxes.
He picked up the one he knew the (h/c) haired child was inside of, putting a 'CAUTION' sticker over the ingredients.
Gently, he set it on the ship's edge, before going back over to his table of selling.
Y/n curled among the bottles of wine, holding their bag close to their chest.
Adrenaline made their vision blurred, and they could only focus on the lights that crept through the box.
Maybe...they should...
In almost half a second, their eyes closed and they were yanked into the land of dreams.
They dreamed of freedom that day.
