"Y/n? Do you....ever feel....empty?"
The small child looked up at the serpent; one that had appeared in their dreams time and time again. While they had been able to tell the serpent their name, the serpent had not been able to recall his own.
For now, Y/n just addressed him as Ivory.
"I dunno," They leaned on their wrist, watching the dark-colored ground mimic a watery pattern, as if they were upside down in a pool of water, "Maybe?"
"Maybe?" Ivory's scales slithered on the ground, a soft sound that was similar to a melody coming out when his body curled around Y/n's small form, "Did you forget?"
Y/n shook their head, "No, I just haven't thought about it much. I've been busy doing other things, you know!"
"You slept the entire day away yesterday, Y/n. I doubt there's anything you can be busy with."
"Hey! Sleep is very important!"
