Chapter Twenty Three: Jason

Piper had went to lay down so Jason didn't know who to talk to. Frank was a seagull flying above the ship, Hedge was singing I Won't Back Down by Johnny Cash, Aleana was talking to Leo, and Hazel was talking to Nico. Then he saw Serenia and walked over to her. "Whatcha doing?" he asked sitting next to her. "What?! Not watching Nico! Umm, I mean, hi" she said blushing. Jason chuckled "Still won't talk to you will he?" he asked. "No" she said leaning against the bench. "Why don't you go try and talk to him?" he asked, his eye was throbbing where Piper hit him. "I don't know. Scared? I would if you come with me? I don't know, he kinda freaked me out" she blushed even more. "I don't know him that we'll but I do know he can be really nice" Jason said helping her up. They walked over to Nico and Hazel. He had his back to them, Hazel wasn't paying attention to them. "If you don't at least try and talk to them, I will push you off this boat" Hazel said raising her eyebrows. Nico shook his head stubbornly. Hazel grabbed his legs and lifted him upside down. He started kicking "Let me go Hazel!" He said. Jason couldn't take him seriously because Nico was laughing. She started lifting him over, "I don't mean to desturb you but Serenia wants to talk to Nico" Jason said. The color in Nico's face drained. Hazel brought him back over. "Yeah, but tell her I don't want to talk to her" he said bolting to the cabins. Serenia ran the other direction. Hazel ran after Serenia. Jason shook his head, if only he could get Nico to understand. The only good thing was they were getting to Epirus tomarow.

A half an hour later he heard Aleana yelling at Nico. "Would you stop making her cry! It was all my fault!" she said. Jason walked into the hallway "Percy's room?" he questioned. Aleana shook her head and pounded on the locked door. Leo came down and unlocked the door with the skeleton key. Jason walked in first, followed by Aleana and Leo. Nico was laying down in the corner, he was shaking and tears poured down his cheeks. "This isn't about Serenia, is it?" Aleana asked. Nico put his finger to his lip and shook his head. "Nico? Are you okay?" Jason asked walking up to him and shaking his shoulder, he was sweaty and shaky. "We need to get him to Hazel!" Jadon said lifting Nico and pushing through the door. He found Hazel talking to Serenia, who gasped when she saw him. "Nico! What's wrong?! What happened?" Hazel said nervously. Nico shook his head and put his finger to his lips. Hazel got a bucket of water and dumped it on him. This only made him cry harder. Water. He probably thought of Percy. Nico looked like he wanted to talk, but why wasn't he? When he still wouldn't talk, Hazel brought him into her room and let him sleep. Jason watched Hazel close the door. Not even a minute later, Nico walked out, looking worse than before. "He needs to sleep" Hazel whisperd to Jason. Frank walked downstairs "Do we have anything to make him fall asleep?" he asked. "Maybe in the sickbay" Leo said walking downstairs. When he came up he had a pill. Jason felt bad for Nico, he refused to go into the sickbay, Leo went back on deck with Frank. Jason, Aleana, Serenia and Hazel stayed in the hallway with Nico. Nico was leaning up against Hazel. She kept trying to give him the pill, he would only put his finger on his lips. Finally Hazel managed to feed him the pill, he was fighting it, even though Jason saw Nico's eyelids droop. He felt worse as he watched Nico fight against the pill. The pill won, Nico's eyes closed completely. Hazel lifted him up and started walking to the sickbay. Serenia ran ahead and opened the door. Jason helped Hazel put Nico in one of the beds. He was mumbling something in his sleep, "Promises, Promises. Be quiet, no words" Jason gave Hazel a curious look. "Someone should stay here with him" Aleana said. "I will" Serenia said quickly. Hazel nodded and slowly walked out. Jason chased after her.

"Whatever happened, someone doesn't want Nico talking and I think that, that someone is Gaea" Jason said, a little proud of himself that he figured that out. "I need to tell Frank!" she said running up the stairs. And Jason needed to tell Piper. He walked up to her door and knocked. She opened up instinly and hugged him. "Hey, how did you sleep?" he asked taking her hands. "Fine, thanks for asking!" she said cheery, but Jason could tell she was lying. "We know you just woke up, but all of us are going to bed. Serenia is in the sickbay with Nico if you want to go" he said kidding her on the cheek and walking to his own room. "When all of you wake up, we are going to be at Epirus aka The doors of death" said Leo's voice in the loud speaker. Jason closed his eyes.

He was in Tartarus, He was standing next to Percy, who was under rocks, he had his knees pressed into his stomach and his cheeks were wet from tears. He had a gash under his eye. "Make up your decision. I do not have all day half blood" boomed Gaeas voice. "No I haven't!" Percy sobbed miserably. "Choose, you surrender to me or I use that son of Hades blood" she said. "Give me more time" he cried. Screams rang through the tunnels teu sounded like Annabeth. "Its not her. It's not her" Percy kept whispering that's why Nico's freaked out. He knows. Gaea doesnt want him to talk about it.
