Chapter Thirty: Piper

Everyone paced the beach. Piper stopped and sat down. Jason came over and sat next to her, "What's up Pipes?" he asked, picking up a stick and drawing in the sand. "Well, pacing isn't going to help us" she answered, picking up a stick. "I guess not" he chuckled. "Stay still" he said. She did, "Why?" she asked, trying not to move. "So I can draw you, looking pretty not like a stick figure" He smiled. "Make me look pretty" she said making him smile. She watched him draw lines, that sort of looked like a person. "What is that?" she giggled. He put the stick down, "That bad?" he asked. She nodded. He kissed her on the forehead, "Face it, I could have never drawn something as pretty as you" he said. Piper was going to at something when Hazel gasped.

"Oh Nico!" Hazel gasped running over to Nico, who had just crawled out of the hole. His face was red and swollen, tears still poured down his cheeks. His arms were covered in scratches, he was soaked in blood. The blood wasn't his though, it belonged to Serenia, who was wrapped in his arms, her body was limp a lifeless. Aleana screamed when she saw them and ran over to them. She took Serenia from his arms, he looked like he was going to pass out, Hazel caught him before he could hit the ground.

They walked back to the Argo, Piper walked over to Hazel, "Is she gone?" she whispered. Hazel nodded sadly. When they were back on the deck, they made Serenia's shroud. It was a deep blue, with gold swirls stitched into it. Everyone was crying. Being the daughter of Posiden, they lowered her into the water. A wave gently crashed over her, the should dissapeared into the deep water.

Everyone was either sobbing or silent. Percy, Aleana, Nico and Hedge were taking it the hardest. Aleana lost her best friend, Percy lost his sister, Nico lost the girl he loved, and Hedge was the protecter of this quest. "I lost my chess partner!" Hedge sobbed. Piper watched Hedge walk over to Percy. He said something to him, Percy looked mad, a huge wave hit the side of the boat making it jerk forward. Percy stomped to his room. Piper walked down to go talk to Percy. His door wouldn't open. "Percy" she called, there was no answer. Fear started building up inside her when she looked at the floor. Mud trickled out the bottom of the door. The door burst open and mud grabbed her.
