Chapter Twenty Nine: Nico

Yep...... I wasn't going to update again tonight..... I'm feeling inspirational. (for now) so I'm writing chapter twenty nine in the POV of Nico and of course, Rick owns most characters. Can't forget that one 8{)

Chapter Twenty Nine: Nico

Nico couldn't handle waiting for Percy and Serenia to come back downstairs. "I'm going to go get them" he told the others. He opened the door, "Serenia? Percy?" he called out. No answer. He found that really annoying. He walked around the deck, Percy was knocked out in the corner. Where was Serenia? He ran over to him, "Percy? What happened?" he asked shaking him. "Come here!" he yelled, the others ran up. "What happened?" Annabeth gasped looking at Percy. She ran over and started shaking him. "You know, your never supposed to wake hake someone who has been knocked out" Leo said, shaking his head at Annabeth. "Shut up Leo!" she snapped. Percy moaned and opened his eyes. "What happened?!" Annabeth said. "I- I- I don't remember" he said, tightly closing his eyes. "Where's Serenia?" Aleana asked. "I don't know" he said guiltily.

They checked the deck calling Serenia's name. Still no answer. Worry was filling up inside him. "Turn back to Epirus!" Aleana said. "Why? How could she get there?" Leo asked. "Turn back to Epirus, NOW!" she said making Nico jump. "Turn back to Epirus, Festus" Leo mumbled. The boat shifted, changing directions, heading back towards Epirus. "Why? Did you forget your purse?" Hedge asked in a mocking tone. Nico didn't know why, but Hedge really didn't like Aleana. "Can it Goat! Serenia kept mumbling something about that place!" she yelled. "How exactly could she have gotton there, cupcake?" Hedge said crossing his arms. "She's a daughter of Posiden, we're on a boat in the middle of an OCEAN!" she yelled again making Hedge slump. Luckily, they weren't far from Epirus, they were going to be an hour.

The hour past slowly. Nico pace the deck. "We're here" Leo's voice called through the microphone. They were docked at the same dock they were when they saved Perch and Annabeth. The beach looking the same, everything looked the same except the tunnel, the tunnel they had to go through to find Gaea. The wide tunnel was now a tiny hole, only one person could possibly go through it. He was the smallest. "Nico has to fit" Jason said, his full of shock. "I will, and I'll be fine" Nico said looking at Hazel's worried face. She hugge him, "I kill you if you get hurt" she said tightening her hug. He looked back at everyone, then climeed through the hole.

It was stuffy and smelly. That was the best way to explain the hole. Nico was thankful when he reached the end. He breathed in fresh air and stretched out his legs. He could already hear the monsters from the arena. Noco hoped Serenia didn't make it this far. He climes up the side of the arena. When he got to the top he saw Gaea, her dress was dirt and mud swirling around. He hid behind her throne. "Son of Posiden, prepare to meet your worst nightmare" Gaea said in a smug tone. Son of Posiden? Percy was on the beach. Or at least he ws supposed to be. Nico didn't dare looking, in fear of what he would see. He heard fighting. Swords and claws. Gaea chuckled, "I'm feeling even more awake" she said. "Leave monsters, your job is done" She shouted. The thick smell of blood was overwhelming. "Why am I not awake?!" Gaea gasped, in a sleepy tone. "Because, I'm not the son of Posiden. I'm the daughter of Posiden" Nico heard Serenia's voice. On instincts he thrust his sword through Gaea's throne, into her heart. She screeched in pain. "I will be back!" She said melting into a pile of bloody dirt. Nico ran down the stairs into the arena. None of the monsters did anything to stop him. He ran by the bloody figure. He pulled off the hood, which was Percy's. Serenia's brown hair floated down her shoulders, she was shaking and her face was a ghostly pale. He grabbed her hand, "I'm going to get you to the ship, we'll get you some ambrosa" he said, tears forming in his eyes. She shook her head "You can't, not fast enough" she whispered. "Don't say that" he said trying to pick her up. She moaned "Nico, it's not worth it, just go" she said. A tear dripped down her chin. He pushed the hair out of her eyes and moved so her head was in his lap. He grabbed her hand. "Please Serenia" He said tears about to burst from his eyes. "Nico?" she asked. "Yes" he answered. "A few years ago, my teacher taught my class a lesson. He said that sometimes we may hurt people, sometimes you can fix it with an apology, other times you have to make a sacrifice. This is my sacrifice. I fixed my wrong, when I hurt you, it was the worst thing anyone could go through. I needed to fix it" she whisperd. "Serenia, I love you" he whispered. "I love you too" she whispered back. He kissed her, her eyes closed. Nico knew she was gone.
