nova diaz is a 30 year old hispanic model and actress, born on june 7, 1989. born and raised in cuba until she moved to the US in 2007 at age 18. her parents are unknown, all that is known is that her father passed away when she was 12 years old and her mother died during child birth, giving birth to her younger sibling who didn't make it either. diaz is now a citizen of united states and spends most of her time in new york. she also visits her hometown cuba often to meet her grandparents.

diaz had tried soccer, acting, and ballet before modeling. she participated in a few local theater productions as a child and young teen.

with encouragement from an acting coach, diaz met and signed with a talent agent who contacted ford models . that same day, she signed with ford at age 18 and went on to do print catalog modeling . At 19, diaz began auditioning for disney and iCarly roles, but she was often typecast as a bully or cheerleader and did not get bigger roles. diaz also filmed many music videos with famous singers during her early 20's.

the "blurred lines" video garnered diaz fame, especially as a sex symbol. In october 2013, esquire magazine named diaz "woman of the year", over online fan vote finalist jennifer lawrence. that december, rolling stone magazine listed her among its twenty hottest sex symbols. in april, FHM ranked her the fourth sexiest woman in the world. askmen ranked her the third most desirable woman of 2014. diaz earned her first leading role, opposite zac efron, in we are your friends, a musical drama released in august 2015, and was part of the film's promotional tour to europe and north america. this tour marked her ascension as a style iconas she earned multiple best dressed citations from various sources.

soon after, on september 17, 2015, she made her runway debut for marc jacobs at the 2016 new york fashion week finale. this appearance contributed to her number-one listing among vogue's 12 Breakout Beauty Stars of 2015. in 2016, diaz walked the paris fashion week runway for miu miu. till now she has walked many runways for successful and famous luxury brands, she has been a lead role in many successful movies and has been photographed for famous magazines such as british gq, vogue, and V.

diaz is an advocate for women's health issues as a spokesperson for planned parenthood. as a self-identified feminist, she has received both support and criticism for her views on sexual expression. diaz has raised funds, done public service announcements, and committed to a short film promoting reproductive and sexual health for planned parenthood. diaz finds self-empowerment in defining and owning the expression of her sexuality and body. diaz advocated via social media for female sexual empowerment and against body shaming; nearly 7 million of her social media followers responded positively, and prominent global media outlets took notice. new york's allie jones called diaz "the best feminist celeb".

In december 2014, US weekly confirmed she had begun dating musician jeff magid but they later broke up in 2015. she later started dating actor and producer sebastian bear-mcclard in 2017, they got engaged in november 2018 although split up in april 2019 due to personal reasons. they claim to now be good friends.
