"Arielle!" My mother called up from the staircase. She had been calling me for what seemed like ages, but it was Saturday, my lazy day. She hollered up the stairs again, and this time I did get up, but like everyday, unwillingly.
"Yes mother?" I called down to her, trying to hide the annoyance in my voice. If I know one thing about my mother, it's that she doesn't like attitude.
"You have school today and it's 8:00pm!" She shouted up to me.
"No!" I called back to her," it's Saturday?" I said, but my voice had a little questioning in it. As if I wasn't exactly sure, which if I'm being honest, I wasn't.
"It's Monday darling," she called back to me. What? Monday? I checked my phone and cursed. She was right, like always...
Well, at least I got some sleep last night. I had to walk the runway last night, at 12:00pm. If you're like me, you don't exactly like to wake up early, so staying up late won't help. But that's just part of my job, part of life.
"Shoot," I mumbled. I was like, probably, three hours late for school? Whatever, I deserved to be able to sleep after walking on a runway in front of a billion people." I'm going back to sleep, call me in sick." I shouted down to my mom.
"Fine," she called back. Obviously annoyed. Attitude problem lady! I wanted to shout at her. Yeah, as you can probably tell, I'm sort of weird. Okay, that's a lie. I'm completely and utterly weird, but I don't give a poop.
So what if I'm weird? Everyone is a little weird, I just got dunked a little too much in the weirdo stew. Ew, that would be gross... People-excuse me-weirdo stew? See, I told you I'm a weirdo.
Maybe four hours later I was woken up by someone jumping on me. I groaned and slapped whoever was on me." Ouch," the person hissed. My eyes opened and I looked up to see my older brother on my floor and my younger brother squishing my intestines.
"Oops," I muttered. Jackson glared at me, and I flashed him my innocent eyes." Did I do that?" I asked, my voice going up a few octaves to make me sound younger.
"Yeah, you did." He glowered at me as I laughed sheepishly.
My younger brother, Mason, giggled at us." You made JayJay fly." He told me. I giggled with him as I saw Jackson flying in my head, wings and beak included.
"Yup!" I replied and lied on my back and grabbed Mason by the arms and held him over me with my hands and feet." Now you're flying, Mase." I say over my brother's giggling.
"Yeah! I'm an airplane!" He then made what he considered airplane noises by vibrating his lips together.
My phone vibrated and I looked to see my best friend, Maddison, texting me. "Hey Haynes." I say into the phone after I picked up.
"Potter! Where are you?" She asked through the phone. I bet China heard her shouts.
I looked around stupidly and then smiled to myself as I said;" in my room." She huffed and I could practically feel her rolling her eyes while glowering at me through the phone.
"I meant; why aren't you at school?" She asked me angrily. I sighed and produced a fake cough.
"I'm sick," I told her, making my voice nasally and unclear to a normal human being's ear.
She scoffed and again, I could feel her glowering and rolling her eyes at me. "Yeah right, you seemed fine a moment ago." She replied snootily.
"I'm just good at hiding it?" I said.
"Yeah, sure, whatever floats your boat sailor." She tells me," anyways... Cole Cooper came to school today." She told me.
"So?" I asked in an uncaring manner. He was the bad boy of the school, and unfortunately, my bully.
"He has bruisings all up and down his body and face." She told me. 'How would she know?' I asked myself, but couldn't come up with a reasonable answer.
"How do you know?" I asked her suspiciously.
"Anyone with eyes could see the Ari." She tells me as if I'm stupid.
"Yeah yeah, whatever." I replied back," gotta go, see ya later, Tootsie." I say, calling her my old nickname for her.
"Yeah, later Arielle." She replied and then hung up.
