I got home later than I had expected, okay, that was a lie. Anyways, when I parked my car outside of my house like I usually do, and then walked inside, I was not prepared for what was going to happen.
"Coleslaw!" My older sister called me, I groaned but walked over to her. She gave me an innocent smile and I rose an eyebrow at her." Wanna go to a fashion show with me?" She asked me.
"I'm going too!" My older brother, Jamie shouted over the sound of the Xbox.
"Why would you want to go to a fashion show Jamie?" I ask him.
He gives me a look like I'm crazy. "Have you seen the girls who work the shows?" He asks me," especially Arie Desiree." He says dreamily.
What the heck? He's never been so... Odd before, he's never acted this way about a girl.
"Who's Arie Desiree?" I ask him, and again he gives me a look that basically shouts 'are you crazy?' Or 'where have you been the last few years?' I just shrug my shoulders.
"Haven't you looked in Seventeen magazine?" He asks me, and I raise an eyebrow.
"I'm not a chick," I reply.
"Baby chickens can't read stupid," he says while rolling his eyes at me.
I sigh and sit on the couch." I meant I'm not a girl," I tell him slowly.
"Oh, yeah. I knew that, pfft." He says, but I know he's lying.
"Liar," I state and stand up before he can hit me.
"Do you want to or not?" Mandy asks, her tone full of annoyance.
I sigh and look at her," sure. When is it?" I ask her.
"Tonight at... 11:30pm." She tells me, and I fling my head back.
"It's a school night," I tell her.
"So? It's not like you pay attention in class anyways." She tells me, and I shrug my shoulders.
"Whatever, okay. Wake me up when it's time to go." I tell her and then walk to my room.
*~*~*~*~*"Ugh, when is this thing gonna start?" I whine to Mandy, but all she does is shush me and continue to stare at the long runway.
"Are you ready?" The announcer asks excitedly. Please? Who could be excited for this? It takes forever just to get started but, apparently I'm the only one who thinks that because the whole crowd cheers enthusiastically.
"First up, showing one of Arie Desiree's new designs is... Julie Marie!" The crowd goes nuts as a blond haired girl walks out onto the runway.
Fifteen or so girls later and it's near the end." And now, for what you've all been waiting for, give it up for Arie Desiree!" My brother wolf whistles and the lights turn off before the runway lights turn on and flash neon lights.
A girl who I'm pretty sure I've seen before walks on stage. She is wearing a light pink dress with little yellow flowers on the bottom of it. I think it looks like something a little girl would wear, not a model.
But as she gets closer, I see that she is doing something with it, and then, as she draws near the end of the runway... She disappears and then reappears in a dark blue dress with diamonds encrusted in the bodice with a slit running up from the bottom of the dress to just below her hip.
"How'd she do that?" I ask my sister, and she shrugs her shoulder as she looks at the dress in awe. The girl, Arie, flips her hair and gives a dazzling smile before turning and looking my way. Our eyes connect and her smile slips off her face before she forces it back on and looks away." She looks so familiar," I mumble.
"Everyone knows her, she's famous." Jamie tells me, but the feeling that I know her from somewhere doesn't leave me. It keeps me up all night long.
*~*~*~*~*~*
(A/N: okay, I'm not very good with anything fashion so don't blame me if what Arie is wearing doesn't make sense. Kay? Kay.
