People ask why in the world I don't like my life
They say "close your eyes and just try to rest"
But they don't get
That I simply can't pass this testI will fight with my last breathe to be better,
Even when I can no longer breathe,
And my cheeks get wetter. Is your glass half full or half empty?
Empty, I say
But I want to fill it
Grasping for the water to fill to the brim
"But you've got to will it"
I'm trying, it's just within reach-
Out of grasp
Pouring all around the cup, down the table
And hitting the floor-
People act like it's a choice, not a choreThey let you think you have a voice.
I didn't ask to be a pessimist,
In a tainted set of irony,
I was raised by a narcissist,
The question of half full or half empty
Will always be my biggest quest.-b.
