Emily's P.O.V.

After changing my home screen back to the original picture, I left the studio to get something to eat. Before I left, I saw my mom flirting with a tall director. Most of the time my parent's relationship is one sided. My dad cares for me with compassion and love while my mom runs strict rules controlling my entire life. Strict parents just make irresponsible and reckless kids. I just don't know anymore. I feel like the only reason why they don't get a divorce is to make sure that people don't judge. A lot of the time we find ourself in uncomfortable situations because we don't want to be judged if we choose to leave. I find myself doing this a lot and I regret it later on.

When I got in my car, I took a deep breath and drove to the Cheesecake Factory as fast as I could without getting a ticket. Throughout all of this my grandparents would know what to do.

I pulled up to the tan building to see paramedics rushing around the building. Huge gusts of black smoke rose from the building and reddish orange flames engulfed everything in sight.

Struggling to comprehend the situation, I asked a nearby officer,"What happened?"
He responded,"Someone started a fire in the kitchen."
"Where are the owners?"
"I think you have your answer," He pointed towards to medical beds rushing towards the ambulance. On the first bed, I saw my grandma with her eyes struggling to stay open. On the next bed, I saw my grandpa in the same disabled state. I rushed straight behind them to the ambulance.

A tall man stopped me and said,"What's your relation?"
"I'm their granddaughter."
"Where are your parents?"
"Look sir, I need to help my grandparents."
"I can't let you do that."

Frustrated, I stomped away to follow the ambulance in my car. At that point in time, I had no one else and I called Tyler Blackburn for help. He answered right away and we started to talk.

"Tyler, I need you to meet me at the hospital."
"Why, what happened?"
"There was a fire at the Cheesecake Factory."
"I'll be there in 10 minutes."

He hung up and I started to drive. Following the ambulance is scary. You don't know what's going on inside and you don't know what to expect. Usually, I would break into a severe anxiety attack, but this time I just drove. I drove steadily and cautiously.

Once I got to the hospital, I saw Tyler standing by the entrance. I found a nearby parking spot and rushed to him. Justin hated Ashley and their whole relationship was fake. Tyler adored Ashley more than anybody else. Ashley and Tyler were really close. Really as in it got really serious a few weeks before the accident. They talked about moving into together and thoughts about marriage. I feel bad for him, because what they had was real and just as there was real hope, it was lost forever. That happens sometimes. Most people say that you should just get it together and move on. Easier said than done.

"Hey Ash," he stared at the ground "I mean Emily."
"Hey Tyler."
"So what happened?"
"Well they're inside," I walked towards the automatic door. "I don't think that we can go in yet though."
"Oh."
"I'm going to go get some tea," I moved towards the front desk. "I'll be right back."

He flashed a weak smile.

When I went to go get my tea, I called Sarah hoping for an answer.

She picked up and sounded dazed.

"Hey Emerald!"
"Hey Sarah," I paused,"I really need your help."
"Well too bad that I'm drunk and high at the same time," She laughed.
"What?"
"I think it was pot, but I feel GOOD!"
"Sarah, where are you?"
"I dunno," she laughed again "everybody is talking about killing you."
"Wait, what?!"
"Yeah, something about Emily is the meanest girl at school, but I would kill to be her."

I hung up.

The fact that people would kill to be you is crazy. Who knew that someone could be so unhappy with themselves. Having that much power over someone's life changes the way that you think. Just saying a simple hi or remembering someone's name can make someone's day. A lot of people don't realize that, but they should. I never meant to become a target, I just wanted people to notice me.
