Today I didn't have to leave school early and I could drive without having my bodyguards make me go 15 miles per hour. It had been a week since Ashley died and Kevin continued to worry about jobs. On a scale of 1-10 things were about a 5, pretty neutral.

School was going to be crazy today, girls would be asking about everything and that stupid counselor wouldn't ever leave me alone.

After brushing the future school day aside, I started to pick out an outfit. The weather was so nice in New York, sunny and cool. My outfit was a strapless floral dress, light-wash denim button-down tied at the ends, and coral wedges. Jewelry stayed simple with a light gold elephant necklace and black feather earrings. Makeup was just enough to make me look like I hadn't just woken up. Hair stayed down and wavy. Ready for school.

I went downstairs to see Kevin and my mom talking.

"Kevin what are you doing here?" I sat down next to him,"I said that I would meet you at school."
"Yeah, you're mom wanted be to come by,"he smiled akwardly,"she thinks that I should go in with you today."
"No!" I screamed,"I need to show people that I am back and better than before."
"Emily,"my mom screamed,"you will not scream in this house like that."
"I can't seem like a stupid damsel in distress waiting for her prince to come!"
"Emily, calm down," Kevin reached for my arm to calm me. "I'll meet you at school."
"I can't be perfect all the time!!!" I began to cry breaking down on the floor."It's not easy being me."
"Emily stop acting like a baby and get in Kevin's car," my mom looked at her phone annoyed at me."You're 17 years old and acting like you have never been taught any better."
I screamed,"Shut up!"
"Excuse me?"
"I said shut up," clutching Kevin's hand for reassurance."you don't control me."
"Well I am your mother and I manage you and your actions."
"You can't make me stop what's natural," I picked up my bag from the floor."It's natural for teenaged girls to crack under extreme pressure, but now we know I'm a diamond."

After that I simply left with Kevin at my side. I didn't look back and I didn't care. After all of these years I finally was free.

Hey hey hey!!! Em is starting her new life right about now and Kevin is just trying to keep up with the crazy. Sorry it's been so long, I started the chapter but it took me a while to end it. Thank you SOOO much for 120 reads on this book. It hasn't even been a month yet and we are already at 100!!!!!
