Kevin's P.O.V.

I really wish that I could help Em. Even though we are in high school, I love her. She is not like the other girls. She has this feeling towards other people that the other girls don't feel. The only reason why she's mean to some girls is because she has never had someone be mean to her.

Whenever she gives someone a bad look she doesn't know how it hurts them. I stay with her because everyone says that we should be together. It's just how things work.

Parent's House

"Kevin, can you come here for a minute?" My Dad said.
"Sure Dad."
"Have you thought about some colleges you want to apply to yet?"

He is always bugging me with these questions about college and health care. Sometimes I wish he could live in the moment and not worry about the next century all of the time.
I had been really busy trying to make Em feel better so I wasn't looking at colleges.

"A little bit but I didn't find much."
"Kevin, you need to start thinking about your future."
"I understand that, but I've been helping Emily."
He scoffed and murmured something under his breath.
"I told you that Emily girl was no good," he sipped some wine,"Her family is even worse too!"
"Dad, Emily is my girlfriend and I love her."
"Love? This is not the fifties kid!" He yelled louder and louder,"You are not 2 kids that fall in love with each other."
"Dad, I'm leaving."
"Fine then, you're lucky I paid this month's rent already!"

It's not fair. I love Em. I love her more than my own family most of the time. My dad is a former alcoholic and my mom is never there. My mom used to be anorexia, but she's better know. My brother, Channing, is a movie star just living life like yolo. He doesn't seem to care about the world around him much and it's going to catch up with him sooner or later. My family is really messed up. Even me, I put on this mask of "Prince Charming" so that I can escape from my distorted reality into a better one. Em is the only concrete thing that I know will always be there. Even in my darkest moments, she is there. So I have to be there for her too.

Ayee:) So Kevin is behind a mask too. It's getting complicated.
