Flying through Gotham helps sort through my thoughts on everything that has happened since we got back. Seeing my family again, having Amira taken by Talia, seeing Damian under his mother's control. And just everything else.
When we get to the docks, I relax my wings leaving them out and see Nyssa standing there looking out at the water. "Nyssa why did you ask us here?" I ask her crossing my arms over my chest not bothering to beat around the bush with her. She turns around taking in my closed off stance.
"Mykayla, I understand that you must have some questions, and I am willing to answer them." She leads before looking at Bruce who is standing beside me. "Hello Batman." She greets as she looks back at me. "What do you want in return for answering my questions?" I ask her knowing there was a catch. "All I want is to see my nephew. I will not try anything I swear it, I would just like to see him." She says voice sounding almost sincere. One thing I learned from Thalia over the years though was to never trust that family when it came to keeping their word.
"We can take you to him. You can speak with him. But you must have someone with you at all times. Just a precaution. You understand, don't you?" I reply to her raising my eyebrow at her. "Of course, I understand." Nyssa responds with a nod. "Then let's bring you to see Damian so you can answer our questions." Bruce says guiding her over to the Bat-mobile.
We pull into the cave through one of the secret entrances. I jump out of the car with Nyssa right behind me. I walk her towards where Damian is being held. I rip off my mask as we stop at the metal table infront of his cell.
"Hello nephew." Guilt dripped from her voice. "TRAITOROUS BITCH!" Damian bellows hatred burning in his eyes as he slams into the glass wall. Nyssa turns away from him to face me regret evident on her face.
"What do you want to know Mykie?" She inquiries resting her hands on the metal table between us.
"What the hell is happening? How is the physical connection still intact? Your whore of a sister told him and I that it would break once we were married." I bombard her with the first questions that pop in my mind.
She sighs looking down at her sisters dagger still on the metal table alongside her nephew's sword. "It was actually supposed to break when you guys had your child not after marriage. But because he was taken before you gave birth it didn't. I think at least. I don't really know. The witch never really gave us much to go off of. So honestly your whole lives my sister and I have been guessing all this information. For all we know you two could be physically connected for the rest of your lives." Nyssa explains picking up Talia's dagger inspecting it.
I stare at her in disbelief. Confusion evident on my face. "You mean to tell me that there's no concrete information on what was done to us?! Now tell me how the hell do we break whatever you had done to me?!" I demand walking around the table to be face to face with her. "What I did was only temporary. It will die off soon. That I know for sure. When though? That is a question I can't answer." She responds staring straight into my eyes trying to prove she's not lying to me. And for the first time I actually believe her.
"One more thing I want you to tell me. Do you know how to break through the damage my sister did to Damian?" I cast a glance at the cell holding my husband. "Genuinely I do not know. I was not aware of what my sister was doing until I saw Damian at the compound." She honestly explains casting her own glance at her nephew. I groan in frustration and lean against the table dropping my head down.
"You need to give him time. Let him remember on his own. Start him on something small. Bring back the memories of his father or brothers first. Reintroduce his pets to him. Something small. Then start reminding him of your relationship. You do not want to flood him with too much information or you risk losing him for good." She suggests placing her hand lightly on my shoulder before walking away.
