May 9th
I hug my best friend around his waist resting my head on his chest. "I've been getting more and more flashbacks from my time here ever since I returned." I tell him and he sighs. "I guessed as much. You've been zoning out a bit in the past couple days." He tells me as he rubs my back soothingly.
Before I can reply I hear footsteps coming from behind Tim. "How is she?" I hear the voice of Gar ask. I pull away from the hug and see Gar and Rachel standing in front of me. "You guys are still here!" I exclaim relieved that they stayed. "She okay. She's a little shaken up but otherwise she wasn't harmed. And they better thank the gods for that. Because if she was then I really would have harmed them." I reply to the original question.
I gasp before getting flashes of images. Images of a boat, a plane, and of Gotham.
When I snap out of it my friends look at me concerned. "I have to find Bruce." I tell them and they nod. "He's still in the cave." Tim says and I nod before running back down to the cave.
I get to the stairs and see Bruce, Clark, Dick, Jay and Diana standing by the bat-computer. "Bruce!" I call out as I let my wings out and fly to the bottom and land right behind them as they turn around. "What's the matter Mykie?" He asks walking over to me placing his hands on my shoulders. "He's here." I rush out quietly. "Already?" I nod my head at his question. He sighs. "He won't attack us until night fall so for now don't worry. Get some rest and we will figure out how to help him in the morning." Bruce tells me squeezing my shoulders. I nod my head pulling away from my father-in-law and walk to the stairs.
Jason's P.O.V
Clark and Diana stayed behind so we're talking to Bruce about what happened on the island. Dick and I were a little worried about Mykie. Her reaction wasn't completely an act and we could tell. She was truly pissed off and ready to run Talia through.
"Bruce!" We hear Mykie call from the top of the stairs. She flies down before talking to Bruce in a whisper. After a minute of them talking Mykie nods and walks away.
"What was that about? Is she okay?" Dick asked once she's out of ear shot. "She's okay. He's already here. She got flashes of images from through his eyes." Bruce tells us with a sigh. "He? He who?" Clark asked and I look at him before answering for Bruce. "Damian." I plainly reply. "I don't get it. How is he here already." Dick says just as confused as I am. "It's not going as planned. But we will find a way to help him." Bruce says and we all nod. "We will find a way to help them both." Diana speaks up.
Dick turns to me. "It's time Jay. We need to find Rose." I nod in agreement but not looking forward to it.
Damian's P.O.V
Once I get to the city mother told me they would be in, I find somewhere to hide out until they decide to show their faces.
I lay on the makeshift bed I had made up and close my eyes. When suddenly a sharp pain shoots through my head though more bearable then the previous ones.
*Memory #1 unlocked*
I'm walking down the halls of what looks like a school. My surroundings completely unfamiliar to me. I stop my walking and stand behind a girl with medium length brown hair. I hear her sigh as she drops her head down for a split second before lifting it back up. As she turns to face me I hear her mutter. "What do you want Damian?" Once I get a good look at her face I notice how beautiful she is.
Her medium length brown hair settling over her shoulder as I catch a glimpse of her purple eyes before they turn to a bright breathtaking green colour.
"I just wanted to see how you're healing after last night." I hear myself tell her. She just rolls her eyes at me. "You know I heal faster then most people." She says to me. "What do you really want? I know it wasn't to see how I'm healing." She remarks. I feel myself sigh before speaking up. "I wanted to apologize for how I acted last night. I was out of line." The girl looks at me strangely before slowly nodding. "It's fine. I was reckless. You were trying to stop me from making a decision that I would one day regret." She replies. Before I can say anything in return a bell rings.
*End of unlocked memory*
I sit straight up from where I was laying. "What the hell was that?" I mutter to myself.
Mykie's P.O.V
I'm startled out of sleep. Out of the memory. But it wasn't a memory I pulled up which could only mean one thing. He's starting to remember. On his own.
Next morning
I walk into Amira's room to wake her up but she's not there. I start to get really scared. I run down to the kitchen and automatically calm down when I see her sitting on the counter beside Jay as he cooks. I sigh and walk over to them. Once I'm beside my daughter I place my hand on her back and kiss the side of her head. "Mommy!" She exclaims and I chuckle as I run a hand through her hair. "I see Uncle Jay-Jay woke you up." I say to her but look at my brother-in-law as he grins at me. "He did mommy. Unce Jay-Jay is making me choco chip pancakes!" She said excitedly clapping her small hands together. I smile at her.
A couple minutes later Bruce walks into the kitchen with Alfred. "Good morning." They both greet us.
"Bruce." I call to get his attention from his food. When he looks up I continue. "I think Damian might be slowly getting his memories back." He places his fork down along with his coffee. "What makes you think that?" He questions me.
"Last night I had a dream. But not a dream. It was a memory while I was sleeping. But it wasn't from my eyes. It was through his. It was almost like an out of body experience while he had the flashback. It's hard to explain but I think I was in his head." I try to explain. "Why do you think your telepathic connection works sometimes and not others? Because that could be why you were in his mind." Bruce asks and it gets me thinking.
"There could be a few factors that coincide with each other. For starters distance is a big one. For instance when you all went on that mission a few years ago, to God know where. I wasn't able to contact him though it. And when he was taken to Nanda Parbat before his memories were taken I again wasn't able to contact him. Then there's the factor of Talia drugging him that could have locked me out. And finally he himself might be locking me out because he doesn't know who I am. But possibly because he was unconscious last night his mind was wide open for my subconscious to get in, and him being in the city could also have a hand in being able to use the telepathic connection." I explain. Bruce nods his head in agreement. "That possibility could come in handy when we're trying to lure him to us. And if we can get his guard down, we might not need Rose." Bruce says. Jason groans. "If only you told me that sooner." I look at him confused. "Why?" I ask him.
"Because I found her."
