When we get back from cave I go into the lounge to see the boys playing with Amira. "Well isn't this cute." I say leaning against the doorframe looking at my brother-in-laws and my daughter. "MUMMY!" Amira yells running over to me. I scoop her up into my arms. "Hi my little angel." I kiss her head and hold her tight. "You sweetie should be asleep by now." I say to her tickling her sides she giggles tucking her head into my shoulder. "I wanted to wait for you mummy." She whines and I shake my head. "I know baby. But you know you should not be up this late. You could have gotten one of your uncle's to read to you. I have a feeling Uncle Jay-Jay would have been happy to." I tell her as I look at Jason. He nods his head walking over to us putting hand on her back. "Of course I would have been. Anything for you peanut." He says to her rubbing her back. "Oh don't go telling her that Jay. She's already spoiled as it is." I tell him with a laugh he chuckles kissing both mine and Amira's head.
He holds his hands out. "Here let me bring this one up to bed. You relax. Have a cup of tea and watch tv or something. Just relax you need it." I nod my head as I let him take my half asleep little girl. "Are you sure you wanna put her to bed Jay? She can get very fussy. Just like..." I start to ask him but stop before I can finish my statement. "Just like Damian was. I know how he used to be. It was hell trying to get him to sleep." He finishes for me. I nod my head agreeing with him. "Yeah that." He nods his head. "I'm sure. Besides she's already asleep so she will be just fine." He explains as he runs Amira's back even more. "Once she's in bed would you be able bring down the baby monitor beside my bed?" I ask him and he nods his head.
Fifteen minutes later Jason walks into the kitchen where I'm sitting with a cup of tea. "She is fast asleep Kay." He tells me as he places the baby monitor on the counter in front of him. "Thank you so much Jay. I really appreciate it." He nods his head walking around to my side of the island. "You should get some rest. You've had a long day." He tells me as he wraps his arm around my shoulders. I nod my head. "And you have to go on patrol don't you?" I ask him and he nods. "Then you go. Don't want to keep Bruce waiting. You know how he gets." He looks a little hesitant. "Jay. I'm okay. Go I can take care of myself." He finally nods and walks away.
Once he's gone I sit back down and close my eyes getting ready to try and reach out to Damian. "Having you back has changed him Kay. When you left. He went back to his old ways. But in the last week since we found you he has come back to manor more and has come back to patrolling with us." I'm interrupted by the voice of my best friend. "None of us were the same when you left." He continues as he walks over to the side in front of me. I sigh before looking at him. "I haven't had the chance to apologize to you yet." For the first time in all the years that I have been friends with Tim he has a scowl on his face. "Tim. I never meant to hurt any of you. I just couldn't handle being here anymore. You weren't there when everything happened. I was Tim. I had to watch as my husband was taken from me on the same night that I was going to tell him that I was carrying his child. Try having the man you are in love with and magically bound to taken from you a week after your wedding." I rant at him. I notice his face soften.
"We all understood what you were going through. We could have helped you. You just wouldn't let us." He rants back "Tim when you go through what I did then you will understand why I had to leave. You all reminded me so much of what I had lost. I just needed to get away. I needed to start new. And I couldn't do that here. I needed to do what I thought was best for my daughter and myself. I couldn't raise her in a city full of crazy killer clowns or psychotic riddle obsessed men. I couldn't raise her in a city full of crime especially when it was the city where her father used to fight that crime." I rant even further. He just simply nods his head. "You should go to the cave before Bruce gets mad." I tell him he walks away without another word.
I'm sitting in the cave after everyone leaves for patrol meditating with Amira's baby monitor beside me and Alfred at the bat-computer. I have my sketchbook and pencil beside me and Damian's sword in front of me debating on if I should try to reach out to him again.
Damian's P.O.V
I'm in our citadel training when there is a sudden shooting pain in my head. Because of how unexpected it is I fall to the floor. I get flashes of what looks like a cave with lots of computers and weapons and strange looking suits. The next image I get is of a girl with wings and purple eyes. All of these images all seem familiar for some unknown reason. It feels like I know what these flashes are but I don't know at the exact same time.
The next thing I know it's not an image but a voice. "Dami? Can you hear me?" It asks. I finally gain enough strength to push this intruder out of my mind. "I will not allow some imbecile infiltrate my mind." I whisper to myself.
Mykie's P.O.V
I eventually pick up the Katana. I grip onto the handle and the sheath focusing all my energy on finding him. When I get an image of a citadel full of training equipment followed by an image of my husband on the floor I decide to verbally reach out to him now. "Dami? Can you hear me?" I ask. I wait for a response but get nothing back. Instead I'm pushed out of his mind.
"Miss. Mykie? Are you alright?" Alfred questions me running over to where I'm seated. "Yeah I'm okay Alfie. Just a little light-headed." I tell him as I try to get up. I don't get a chance to. The minute I get onto my feet my knees start to give out. Before I hit the ground Alfred wraps his arm around my waist keeping me up. "Let us get you into the infirmary." He says as he guides me to lay on one of the metal tables. "Al. I'm fine I promise." I insist but he just shakes his head as we hear the cave garage door open and the sound of bikes and the bat-mobile drive in.
Jason's P.O.V
I park my bike and take off my helmet and domino mask. I'm starting to take my jacket off when I hear the sound of a crash coming from the infirmary. I run over and the first thing I notice is Mykie unconscious on the floor and a medical tray knocked over. "Alfred? What happened?" Bruce asks from behind me as he removes his cowl. "I am unsure Master Bruce. One minute the young miss is getting up from meditating and the next she is almost falling over. I try to bring her in here but she was so adamant about leaving. She tried to hold onto the tray of get off the bed and she just collapsed." He explains. "What was she doing when she was meditating? Because when I last saw her she was getting up to leave the kitchen to go to bed." I say as I finally get a chance to rush over to her. "I do not know. I could not tell she was sitting too far away from me. But I believe it has something to do with the young master's sword I found on the ground beside where she was." Alfred tells us. "Dick! Grab the Katana laying on the floor." Bruce demands.
A minute later Dick walks in with the sword. He looks at our friend in the bed with a sad look. "I think she might have used up too much of her energy trying to reach out to Damian." Tim says leaning against the wall. "How can you tell?" I ask him standing beside Mykie's bed. "She wouldn't just be holding that sword for the hell of it. That damn thing has a bigger connection to him then anything else in this world. Even her." He explains like it was obvious. I just shake my head as she starts to stir.
