First day back. Instead of going to my unit I decided to wait for Emily in her office, she left before I could say bye this morning. My shoulder is not 100% but I'm cleared to be back at work. I'm sitting in her chair when she walks through the door, a smile spreading across her face.

"Well Good Morning Sergeant Jareau" I stand up smirking.

"Good morning SSA Prentiss" I smile at her and sit back down while she closed the door and shut the blinds. "What brings you into my office today, aren't you suppose to be downstairs?" She raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at me and tilted her head.

"Well" I crossed my legs, my left ankle resting on my right knee, my hands folded on top. "I wanted to thank the agent that saved me" she smiled at me.

"You're welcome. But remember, we did discuss you maybe easing back into things slowly.." I sighed.

"I'm good to go.. Seriously, I even have my permission, I mean doctors note clearing me"

"Promise me, you won't jump from helicopters or anything like that"

"Only as a last resort" I winked at her and she rolled her eyes "Okay okay, I'll take it slow"

"Good, because the next 8 months are gonna be a struggle ya know?"

"Yeah, with the two gunshot wounds back to back, I- Wait, next 8 months what do you mean?" I tilted my head in confusion. I watched as she got up and came around her desk. She sat in my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"We are" she grabs my hand and places it on her stomach. "Having a baby.." she bites her lip looking at me. I look down at our hands laying against her stomach.

"Are you serious..? Like an actual baby?"

"Yes baby, I'm carrying your baby, I was gonna tell you the day you got shot.. Then I had passed out.. I didn't want to tell you and then I lose baby. My blood pressure was so high and I was spotting.. I wanted to make sure I was in the clear. Baby Jareau will be here in time for thanksgiving.." I had tears leaking down my face as she spoke, I was so speechless. I wrapped my arms around her crying into her shoulder. She ran her fingers through my hair.

"You okay? You're kinda scaring me.." I pulled back and looked at her, she grabbed my face and wiped the tears away with her thumbs.

"I'm so speechless but in the most amazing way ever. I can't believe we are having a baby.. A little human." I smile wide at her and she leans down to kiss me.

"You're amazing Jareau, I love you"

"I love you too Prentiss"

Getting shot twice makes you think, makes you look at life at a different angle. When I met Emily I knew she would change my life, that she would be the one for me.

So, here I am a week later getting her an engagement ring and then resigning from the FBI. I'm going into the family business of import and export.

I had stopped and picked up some ingredients for a nice steak and potato dinner with a side salad. I want this night to be magical, I clean up and get the steaks on the grill. I had stopped by the store and got a few decorations and candles for the living room and bathroom.

After cleaning up I went upstairs to take a quick shower and get dressed. I was so nervous, I had texted her mom and dad since they were out of town, they gave me their blessing.

I was pulling the steaks out of the oven when Emily finally walked through the door. "I'm home baby!" I stepped out of the kitchen to greet her.

"Welcome home baby" I grabbed her things putting them away for her.

"Something smells good.. and you look nice?" She ran her eyes over me, I was in a tuxedo.

"Yeah.. I made us a dinner, I thought we could have a date night at home. I made steak and a side salad for us." She smiled at me.

"Thank you baby, let me go get out my work clothes okay?" I nodded and gave her a quick peck. "Hurry back"

Dinner was amazing, we talked about the baby, work, and just meaningless stuff. Emily made me feel calm and I knew at that moment she was the one for me. The ring was snug in my pants as we made our way into the living room.

I had set up the mattress from the guest room with covers and pillows. The fireplace was lit and soft jazz music was playing. I was so nervous now. We stopped in front of the fireplace and I stared at her.

"What's wrong baby?" she looked at me worried biting her lip. I smiled..

"I'm so in love with you Emily Prentiss.."

"I love you too baby" she brought one of her hands up and touched my cheek; rubbing it with her thumb.

"I- I'm so happy I met you, you made me feel like there was something to live for, that I could be whoever I wanted to be, whenever I wanted to be. I've never felt so much love from one person than I have when I met you... This baby we are bringing into this world, it's a miracle. We were chosen for this baby. I want to make an honest woman out of you Emily Prentiss" I reached into my pocket pulling the ring box out, she gasped and covered her mouth "After I got shot for the second time, I did a lot of thinking and when you told me about the baby there was even more thinking.. I can't go through life without you, I can't wake up beside you knowing that there's nothing to connect us. So.. Here I am. Jennifer Jareau, asking you to connect us. Will you marry me and spend forever loving me?" She started sobbing as she nodded her head up and down.

"Yes, I'll marry you" I let out the deep breath I was holding and stood up pulling her into a tight embrace. I pulled back and slipped the ring on her finger.

"God I love you so much!" She grabbed my face kissing me hard, the cold metal of her ring touching me. I shuddered.

"Now... Let's seal this with a little celebration.." she pulled back and laid on the mattress, her legs spread open. "Coming or not Sergeant?" I swallowed thickly as I stared at her.

"Oh I'm coming alright"
