"Jazmine, my sweet." Hazel covered her mouth in shock. "I've missed you." Jazmine eyes watered as she walked over to the woman hugging her tightly. "It's been so long." Hazel cried into her shoulder. "Why has it been so long—how has it been so long?" Jazmine questioned, she was confused by everything that went on. "Because, you were expecting to be somewhere else and it caused you take longer to get here. It's happened to some people here." Hazel said and Jazmine raised an eyebrow. "How many ghost live here?" Jazmine whispered. "A bunch. From murders to suicide, you name it. They all kill guests and ho checks in, I don't know why—but it's our order to clean the sheets for our next guests." Hazel informed her.
"How long has this been going on?" Jazmine questioned, that was usually what she had been doing for the last hour she had been here. "Forever. It's been happening since this place was built." Hazel shrugged. "One last question, I'm sorry," Jazmine said as she looked around the halls. "How did you and James die?" She asked, Hazel shifted uncomfortably. "Well you see, s-someone had busted James for his murders. It had been about four years after James' wedding and your death. He decided to lull himself before he was captured, I volunteered to get killed by him to prove my—ummm, loyalty." Jazmine noticed how Hazel avoided eye contact and stuttered as she explained. She didn't know if it was because she didn't like talking about her own death, or if it was something more to it.
But she didn't want to push it, so she nodded. "I-I'm sorry to here that." Jazmine cleared her throat. "Have you talk to James?" Hazel changed the subject. "He was the first person I ran into. We didn't really catch up. I just kept asking many questions, I still am." The girl explained as she rubbed her arms. "Are you cold? I can give you a robe—or a cover." The woman insisted and Jazmine quickly shook her head. "I'm fine. I just wanted to see you. I'm gonna head back down to the lobby if that's okay with you." Jazmine said, hoping that she didn't have to go straight into working. "Go ahead." She smiled and Jazmine nodded.
She thought being a ghost would be easy to appear wherever she wanted, but she didn't know how. So instead she was taking the elevator down like she was alive. She'd expected the ghost "tricks" come easily, but she had no idea what she was doing.
Once she made it to the front floor she sat back at the bar. Thinking of how both James and Hazel lived only four years after she died. They didn't even get to fully live the rest of their life. Then on top of that Elizabeth was immortalized? She still had so many questions but was annoyed with herself for asking so many questions.
"You need a drink?" Liz asked the girl and she nodded. "I'd take a water." She said and Liz smiled. "You sure you don't want anything stronger?" Liz asked. "She doesn't drink." Both Liz and Jazmine turned back to see James. Jazmine stiffened at his presence, it was odd being around him for some reason.
"Our first pure ghost." Liz joked and Jazmine smiled, laughing lightly. James sat down next to Jazmine ordering "his specialty" which Liz gladly gave him.
"So, Jazmine. I know you have a lot of questions," James started and the girl nodded. "Do you to talk about it, dear?" He questioned, Jazmine wouldn't be lying if she said she didn't miss him. She missed almost everything about him, beside killing people, but other than that, she loved everything about him. "I think for now I'll just leave it. I'll probably figure things out of my own." She stated, James stared at the woman being speaking again. "Why did you kill yourself? Were you not happy with Hazel and I?" James asked. "I was. Things just got hard for me." She said and James raised his eyebrow. "You could have told me, dear. I would have gave you a break." James tried making it easier for the girl, but he wouldn't understand, he couldn't find out that she loved him. He was her boss.
With that, James disappeared. Liz raised her eyebrows as she walked back over to Jazmine, standing in front.
"You like Mr. March." Liz noted making Jazmine eyes widened as she shook her head. "That's unprofessional, I don't not." Jazmine cleared her throat. "Well I guess you're pretty unprofessional, Jazmine." Iris joined making Liz laugh lightly. "I-I don't understand. I'm serious." She was lying to herself. "Honey, I can tell when someone's in love. It's something I've always wanted to feel, and I could tell that you feel it when you're around James." Liz explained. Jazmine gave in.
"He's been head over heels for Elizabeth since nineteen twenty-six. I know it's wrong and unprofessional but I can't help it. I didn't expect to fall in love with, even Hazel is in love with him it's pathetic." Jazmine shrugged. "Oh, Hazel. That woman would do anything for James." Iris commented. "I know, if anything, she probably has more of a chance than me," Jazmine said as she laughed lightly. "But really, James has Elizabeth and he's happy. As long as he's happy I'll simply stay away." Jazmine said.
Liz and Iris looked at each other, making Jazmine raise her eyebrow. "you know what, other than the countess, James also seems to really care about you." Jazmine smiled lightly at words Liz said. "I don't really think so, you don't have to make me feel good, I can handle the truth." She admitted "well, I can prove it by telling you that James never lets any ghost—or guest go into room twenty-four." Jazmine's heart fluttered. "T-that's my room—my old room." She said with widened eyes. "Yeah, we all know. He's been waiting for you to come back. It took awhile, but you're back and it's still your room." Liz smiled at the girl.
"Yeah, James is head over heels for the countess, but he still thinks about you." Iris said. "They aren't even married anymore." Liz added. Jazmine was completely shocked at the statement.
