-JJ pov-
"Would you ever date Kie?"
I looked over at Kie but she just smiled at me,
I couldn't tell them, not here, not like this.
"Ew no dude that would be like dating my sister, gross" I saw Kie's face drop. "I mean like could you imagine Kook queen dating Pogue low life, it would never work" I started fake laughing.
"Anyways Sarah truth or dare?" Sarah gave me a cold look as I spoke,
"Truth Maybank" she said relaxing into her seat,
"Least favourite Pogue?"
"At the moment Maybank I would have to say you." She looked over at Kie and gave her a smile.
The game went on for a few more rounds until some of us started to get tired so they went to bed leaving me, Kie and Sarah around the fire,
"Do you want me to stay?" She said to Kie placing a comforting hand on her shoulder,
"Nah don't worry," She said placing her hand on top of Sarah's. Sarah nodded and gave me a stare as she walked into her tent.
I looked at Kie and she looked at the ground,
"Did you mean it?" She said burying her toes in the sand,
"Mean what?"
"Don't play dumb" she said finally looking at me,
"No...?" I said not completely sure what she was talking about.
"J, u said I was a Kook queen, and that u think of me like a sister,"
"What did you expect Kie? Did you want me to say... oh yeh by the way guys I really like Kie and we've been sneaking around, kissing, talking, trusting each other."
"JJ u sounded like u meant it, the Kook Queen, Pogue low life? Do you really think that bad of me, that you think that I couldn't be with someone, anything short of a 'Kook King?'" She looked at me trying to hold back tears,
"U know I didn't mean it like that,"
"Do I J?... Cuz I'm not sure I do, when u said that I...I was breaking, I felt like a piece of my heart had been ripped out."
A few tears fell down her cheek and this time it was my heart that was breaking.
"I don't think I can do it J..." She said breaking a few minutes of silence.
"Can't do what Kie?"
"Us...this?" She said pointing between us,
"Maybe what u said earlier was right... it won't ever work," I saw more and more tears fall from her eyes and I felt one fall from mine.
"Kie...don't"
"This J... whatever this is... it's over." She said turning and walking into Sarah's tent.

-Kie pov-
The next morning, it's safe to say I felt like shit, who does that to someone over a little game of truth or dare. I went outside and everyone was awake apart from one,
"Hey guys...where's JJ?" I said sitting down,
"I don't know saw him around 4am but haven't seen him since," Pope said.
"He's probably just doing a JJ thing." JB said.
"Yeh" I said but my stomach couldn't hold down the worry of JJ not being the first person who said good morning to me.
It was now night time and no sign of JJ, I wanted to look for him. I walked a bit away from camp before I heard a voice from behind me,
"Where'd you think ur goin man?" Cleo said,
I laughed and then told her everything, everything since the first kiss, apart from what I keep hidden on my thighs and chest, that's hard to talk about, although with JJ it felt easy.
"A'ight man, cmon then let's go find ur boy" she said walking forward. I laughed once again and then followed.
After about half and hour of walking, I started to really worry, until we saw smoke in the air coming from about half a mile down. I started walking faster but a hand on my wrist stopped me,
"That could be ur loverboy but it could also be Rafe, here get behind me and stay quiet," Cleo said pulling out her knife, I nodded and took a few steps back. We walked forward and we saw JJ around a fire, I ran ahead until he could see me.
"Well hello Kie, how are you? I hope ur well," he said clearly drunk, I looked over and there was a bottle of wine by his foot,
"Where the hell did ya get that?" Cleo said pointing at the bottle,
"Well Cleo my dear friend, it washed up on this fine beach about 3 hours ago,"
"J come on ur comin back to camp." I said trying to lift his arm up.
"No Kie!" He snapped, "there's no point, I've lost everything, I've ruined my friendship with Pope, I let Rafe lay a hand on you and then I was a bitch so I lost you as well, my own dad didn't even want me, oh and don't get me started on my mom..." I cut JJ off by pulling him into hug, he sobbed into my neck and continued talking,
"I'm hurting everyone who comes into my life Kie," Hearing him talk bad about himself was breaking me, 
He's my world.
