They were still lying in her bed a few hours later, having settled their physical hunger for each other, they were now content with just holding each other, not even needing to speak.

Resting her head in the crook of his arm, as they lay side by side facing each other, Alison's fingers idly stroked Paul's chest where the matte of silky dark hair started, fascinated by the feel of it. whilst enjoying the heat of his other hand as it rested on her bare hip.

His blue eyes were dozily watching her, there was a small contented smile on his lips.

He felt could never get enough of her, and it made him realise how this weekend suddenly seemed too short a of  time already.

It brought back to his mind the proposition he had been toying with, which was asking her to return back to London with him again, now things were more settled in his life.

But at the same time he was a little anxious about how she would respond.

So now he was thinking it over carefully, trying to figure out which would be the best way to persuade her, without it being too overwhelming at the same time

After all it would be a life changing decision for both of them, but mainly for Alison as she would be the one making the move. He didn't want to feel like he was putting any undue pressure to go along with it, unless she was really happy to do so.

His hand left her hip to move up and gently push a strand of her dark hair away from her face,

"You know I have never met anyone like you in my life before," he told her honestly,

his blue eyes now scrutinised her face in wonderment.

"Well I always did consider myself a bit odd," Alison replied flippantly as her brown eyes met his, refusing to be flattered.

Paul chuckled, "You know that's not what I mean," he chastised her lightly, then his expression became more serious again.

"I'll admit there has been a right few women in my life over the years including Holly, but none of them ever made me feel the way you do"

She just smiled, "And what way do I make you feel exactly?"

" Well, when I am with you, my life has a whole new meaning to it, that I never experienced before, It's not just about the physical attraction," Paul added earnestly, "but its also that you have touched my very soul, in a way no one else has managed to do. You make me feel complete. " His smile was full of warmth as he continued, "I am just crazy about you Ali. I never really understood what love was about, until I met you."

It was her turn to scrutinise him now, his declaration of love moved her emotionally because of the sincerity in his tone. She had no doubt in her mind that he was being truthful, and that he really did feel that way right now lying here with her, but would it last? Could it last?

Sometimes she hated that sensible little voice in the back of her mind, that always refuse to let her get too swept away.

"I have never felt this way before about anyone either," she then confessed, "But then have not been fortunate enough to have much to compare it with; except for my little fling with Mickey. But I know it completely pales into insignificance compared to that.. I just know I have come to care about you, more than I ever thought possible"

"I am glad to hear it," Paul replied, his fingers now lightly caressing her bare shoulder before continuing,

"That's why I think now that my divorce is out of the way, and everything else is sorted out, it would be good for us to take our relationship to the next level"
