As the days went by into weeks, Alison became more familiar with her surroundings and spending a lot of time with Paul at his restaurant, she knew nearly all his staff, they had become familiar faces to her now.
Because Emma, Kirsty, and Donna had already spoken to her and became friendly with her, they had gossiped with the other staff about the boss’s new girlfriend. Suddenly they all became more curious about her, wanting to find out if she was really as down to earth and approachable as the others had claimed.
So it had become the case as more of them got chatting and talking to her, and realise she was really friendly and interested in them, Alison found herself on great terms with the staff restaurant, in the kitchen and on the floor.
They also remarked and noticed how their boss was absolutely besotted with his new girlfriend, and how she had turned him into a tamed little pussycat when he was around her, much to their bemusement But for once, they could understand why, because she had managed to endear all of them as well.
What delighted Paul even more where Alison was concerned, was how she was able to happily fit in with his friends and customers and staff, treating them all with the same warm friendly open manner. They all accepted her easily into their company and respond to her, whether it was a kitchen porter, or one of his high end celebrity customers They all seem to love her.
She never treated anyone any differently, and he was humble enough to admit he could learn from her and he loved her all the more for it.
He was only too glad to show her off, and let people see how happy he was with her, So when he got an invitation to attended a television awards show, he wanted to bring her along with him, thinking she would enjoy it.
Alison had to admit at first she was a little daunted at the thought of being surrounded by famous people and celebrities that would be attending the award show. But at the same time it was also quite exciting, she imagined Teresa’s face when she told her all about it and she decided she couldn’t pass it up. After all, it might just be one of those once in a lifetime experiences.
Paul’s sister Amelia helped her dress up for the occasion, and Alison was very grateful for her help especially when she took her to the right hairdressers and helped her pick her shoes and the long slinky low cut red dress.
Elegant and glamorous were words Alison had never applied to herself, but that was exactly how she felt when she looked at herself in the mirror that evening and seen the full extent of her transformation
Her hair cut in a short style that suited her face, and with the make up accentuating her features to their best that she had to look twice, not quite believing it was her own reflection staring back.
“Now I know exactly how Cinderella felt!” she laughed turning to Amelia who was rather pleased herself, with the results, and also amused by Alison’s wonderment over her new look.
“Well lets go and find your Prince Charming, I can’t wait to see Paul’s face” she grinned as she hooked her arm through Alison’s and led her out of the bedroom.
The two girls had bonded their friendship even further having spent the day together, much to Alison’s delight, it was almost like having the sister she longed for.
Paul was in the bathroom also getting ready, when he came out whilst buttoning up his shirt he caught sight of Alison and he stopped dead.
“So how do I look?” she demanded giving him a quick twirl
“You look fantastic!” Paul replied, eyeing her up with new appreciation before coming over to kiss her on the cheek “Of course I think you are fantastic all the time” he then added
