Chapter 24- First Day Jitters

Although it's December, it is my first day at my new school.

I'm going to Ocean View Junior High. They claim its the best school in Orlando. I'll be the judge of that.

"Ok bud, just go do your best. They will love you. I love you sweetie!" Mom said as I got out of the van.

"Mom!" I said.

"Sorry." She said.

I climbed the steps. It looked very well off.

I walked into the school. It was huge. I had no idea where to go. I'm going to find the office. Ya, that's a good idea!

"Excuse me, could you tell me where the office is?" I asked.

"It's right there." This kid points behind me.

"Thanks" I said.

I spun around and walked into the office.

"Hello. My name is Beckett Butler. I just moved here." I said.

"Oh yes. Hello Beckett. Here is your schedule." The office lady said.

"Thanks." I said. "Where is Mrs. Shepard's room?" I asked.

"Down that hall to the right." She said.

I walked down that hall and turned to the right.

A whole bunch of kids were sitting down talking in little groups.

"Hey new kid!" Some guy yelled at me. "Come sit down."

I walked slowly and sat behind the kid in an empty desk.

"Hi. Uh I'm Beckett." I said.

"This is Tyler, Joey and he's Kyle. I'm Adam." Adam said.

"Hi guys." I said. "Uh, will you guys show me around?" I asked.

"For sure! I think you'll fit in just fine here." The kid named Joey said.

Adam has curly short brown hair. He was wearing a unbuttoned plaid shirt with a grey shirt under and jeans.

Joey was a blonde with his hair gelled me like mine. He was wearing a black American Eagle shirt with his sleeves rolled up.

Kyle was shorter, I could tell even though he was sitting down. He had dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a sweater from Abercrombie and Fitch.

Tyler has black hair, so short he's almost bald and a pale yellow shirt.

I guess I made some friends.

"Did you just move here?" Tyler asked.

"Yah. I lived in California, but I was born in Idaho. We move around a lot. My dads job was moved here." I said.

"What's your dads job?" Adam asked.

"You're all going to laugh when I say this. Hes a vlogger. A YouTuber. We upload daily vlogs. My whole life is on YouTube." I said.

"Thats cool. My dad is just a chef." Adam said.

"It has its perks. I have a million girls who wanna make out with me." I laughed.

"Thats awesome. We have some cute girls here. There's Meredith." Adam said, pointing to a beautiful girl.

"Woah." I whispered.

"That's Everly and Hayden." He continued. "And then, there's Julia. She's my girlfriend. We call her Jules."

"I had a girlfriend is California. Her name was Lilly. She was my first kiss." I smiled.

"Oh my god." Tyler said. "You've had your first kiss."

"Yah. Most people our age have in California." I said.

"I'm moving to California." Tyler said, high fiveing Adam.

"Take me with you." I said.

"Man, I think you'll be a good addition to our group. People will like you here." Adam said.

I picked out that Kyle was very quiet.

"Do you play any sports?" Adam asked, a few hours later at lunch.

"Football mostly. I do play a little soccer, hockey and lacrosse, oh and I run." I said.

"I play football too. You shou consider joining our team. Outside of school. West Orlando Spartans." Adam said.

"I'll talk to my dad tonight." I smiled.

Today was pretty great.
