I can keep a secret pretty good. Except there are a few people I can't keep them from.
I walked to Isaiah's house so we could catch the bus.
"So, where were you last night Beckett?" He asked.
"Uh, well, uh," I stammered.
"You have a secret, that I want to know!" Isaiah said.
"NO I DONT!" I said.
"Ya you do!" He said, playfully punching me on the arm. I said nothing.
"What is it. You wheeled Lilly?" He asked.
"NO I DID NOT!" I said.
"Did you rob a store?" He asked.
"Isaiah," I said.
"I knew that was too good to be true." He laughed.
"Ok, ok. Fine. Your going to hate me for this." I said, shaking my head.
"Just tell me!" He said.
"I'm moving to Florida." I said.
"What?" Your joking. Tell me your joking!" Isaiah said.
"I wish I was." I said.
"When." He asked.
"Next month." I said.
"How are you going to tell Lilly?" He asked.
"That's the part I'm dreading." I said, sitting on the bench at the bus stop.
"You going to tell her?" Isaiah asked.
"Are you kidding! I have to tell her. She can't just wake up one day and find out I moved." I laughed.
"Ya I guess." He said.
When the bus came, Isaiah and I sat down, brainstorming ways to tell Lilly I'm moving.
"Dude. You do realize that she is going to be mad at you." He said.
"It's not my fault my parents are stupid. Man, its like they want us to hate them." I said.
"Wow. You've never talked about your parents this way." He said.
When we got to school, Lilly came running up to me.
"Hey Beck, what up?" She asked, smiling.
"Uh, Uhm nothing much you?" I once again, stammered.
"You ok?" She asked.
"Ya he's good." Isaiah said, throwing his arm around me.
"Ya, I'm good." I said, barely able to talk.
The bell rang.
"Well, we gotta get to class! Bye Lilly!" Isaiah said, yanking me by my shirt.
The whole day I felt guilty. I couldn't look Lilly in the eye because I knew I would crack.
When I got home, I couldn't handle it. I called Lilly and invited her over.
"Hey Beckett, what up." Lilly asked, as she flopped down on my bed.
"Well. I need to talk to you about something." I said.
"Are you breaking up with me?" Lilly said.
"Not exactly." I said.
"What happening Beck." She asked.
"I'm moving. To Florida." I said, sitting beside her.
"When." Was all she said.
"Next month." I said.
"Ok. This is ok. We will be ok. BECKETT TELL ME WE WILL BE OK!" Lilly said.
"LILLIAN MEGAN WATERS, WE WILL BE OK!" I said.
"Long distance relationships never last." Lilly said.
"We can prove them wrong." I said.
"Beckett Jacob Butler. You will be such a gentleman one day." Lilly said."Are we breaking up?" She suddenly asked.
"Not yet." I smiled, and then we kissed. It was amazing once again.
After a hour, Lilly left. We went and got the kids at school.
"Beckett comed to get us!" Brock laughed.
Gavin walked right up to me. I put my arm around his shoulder. We've never been that close. Gavin and I are in no way the same. But since last night, I feel like we have to stick together.
Avia, Emmi and Brock trailed behind Gavin and I. Mom was walking ahead of us.
When we got home, us kids played soccer out in the yard. Dax is just starting to walked, so he was toddling around.
I feel really bad about telling Lilly.
