This is the free fall
Hoping I will fly
Every sleight of hand, playing my cards right
Pocket ace and melting wings
I tell myself to just sit back and enjoy
But how can I
When the cautionary tales persist in my mind
Forever a tightrope love story
Her and I
Apprehensive lovers like rabbits
And how profound persisting is
Telling ourselves that plumbing to the earth is just the roller coaster ride of life
That the majestic glitter of warmth is worth the destruction of ash a fire leaves behind
And could it be possible for love to grow on a scorched heart?
Will she fill my cracks with a lush forest and roses that bloom only for her
Or will the spark from lips like kerosene
Once again set ablaze the fragile workings of my duct tape soul
This is the free fall into the unknown
