Jacob's POV
I slam the car door shut and immediately turn on the engine so I can get the heater going. I rub my gloved hands together. I open up the middle console and sift through my CD cases. I pick up Wiped Out! and play it. The music is soft enough that it won't give me a migraine after only being awake for thirty minutes. I remove my beanie and run my hands through my hair before putting it back on. I lay my head back and take slow breath trying to ignore how fucking freezing I am right now. The only reason I am awake at 7:23 is because I am in love. Goddamnit.
Aaron kept sending messages after the one at five in the morning. I know he's asleep now but he'll be on my ass as soon as he's awake which means I need to sleep as much as I can before he makes me give the prisoner breakfast. I organized the whole plan but since I wasn't physically there, they're giving me shit for it. I don't care in all honesty. I'd do it again. Of course I'd rather be getting a tattoo while my girl holds my hand and then watch her eyebrows furrow and her lips curl as she figures out how to beat me at poker, leading to us fucking each other so good.
So fucking good.
I flinch when I hear the door open and completely wake up when the door shuts. Aria shivers next to me.
"My love, I told you to stay asleep." Aria's hands are warm against the back of my neck.
"No, it's okay. You hate driving in the snow. I'm awake, I promise."
"That doesn't mean I'm not going to have to drive in the snow at all. Go back to bed mi amor."
Call me that again. With those sweet words from her mouth, the cold has vanished.
"I don't mind." I pull out of the parking spot after she buckled her seatbelt. "Are you warm enough?"
"A little bit more and then I'll be fine." She rubs her hands against her thighs. "Please be there exactly at two."
Of course she's already worrying about something that's not for another seven hours.
"Be there at three. Got it." I tease and laugh when she huffs while giving me an irritated look. "You cannot be this tense this early. I'll be there at two. Promise."
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound snappy." She leans over and kisses my cheek.
I smile and look over at gesturing for her to plant another. She giddily smiles back and leans in again pressing those soft lips right on mine.
"You are forgiven." I take off my gloves and place my hand in its rightful place, on her thigh.
She turns up the music a little and relaxes in her seat, fitting her hand perfectly in mine.
"I've never been to a Neighbourhood concert, have you?" she speaks with her eyes closed.
"I've never been to a concert." my answer provokes her eyes to snap open. She looks at me like I'm a freak.
"Never?"
"Never. You have?"
"Well, yeah. Just One Direction and Ariana Grande. Mar and I asked for that for Christmas all the time. But I'd really like to go to a Neighbourhood one, even an Arctic Monkeys one." she has no subtlety when it comes to things she wants. I think it's on purpose but it's cute either way.
"Are you proposing we go to one together?" I look over at her for a second just to see the expression on her face. It makes my mouth quirk up.
"Maybe." She shies away.
