maddy's pov
I turn the music up on my phone and hum along as I untie my hair from the messy bun that I did up before my shower.
With my towel wrapped around me, I lean forward to get a closer look at my face in the mirror and pick at what I think is dry skin then lean back to begin my makeup.
Jules and I had planned a spontaneous day together— aka, getting food and driving around the rich suburbs of Los Angeles to look at houses that we wish we could afford. This was a regular thing we'd do together whenever we didn't want to do anything, but also didn't want to sit at home.
After filling in my almost non existent eyebrows, putting on a bit of mascara and foundation, I apply some lip balm then go back to my room.
I throw together a simple outfit, black leggings, a cropped top and a zip up hoodie— we weren't getting out of the car so there's no need to dress up. I dry and brush my hair and leave it in its natural state which was in between straight and wavy.
The door bursts open and my best friend makes herself known, "I'm here!" She sings.
"How's future Mrs Hacker doing on this fine day?" She teased, flopping down onto my bed.
"Don't say that," I scrunch my nose in distaste.
"Oh come on, this is so exciting for me!" She whined. I look at her for a moment before laughing,
"Let's go," I grab my phone and wallet and walk out of the room.
"Bye mum!" I call out.
"Bye mom!" Jules called out also.
"Bye girls!" Mum yelled back from somewhere in the house.
We jump into Jules' car and she starts it and takes us out of the neighbourhood.
"So, I did some research last night and paradise cove has some nice ass houses" Jules tells me.
I pull my legs up to rest on the seat as I search the suburb on my phone.
"Shit, this house sold for thirty six million last week" I show her the house. She glances at it then nods as she looks back at the road.
