Maddy's pov

I was doing something stupid.

Something that I would much rather not be doing.

I was getting ready for a hype house party.

I thought about what Jack said the other day and I do miss everyone. I've tried to push away the thought of seeing Vinnie but it was almost inevitable that I'd see him.

Going to this party would be a good thing I guess...not exactly looking forward to it, but I really need to get out and do something.

My mind has been swirling around a tatted, curly haired, hazel eyed boy non stop and it's driving me crazy.

I tried to get Jules to tag along with me but she has to go to her mums birthday dinner, so I'm in this by myself.

I got dressed into something slightly casual yet still on the 'sexy' side. Some black flared pants with a black bralette paired with some black platformed shoes.

I left my hair to fall naturally down my back and did light makeup but added a bit of eyeliner to make my eyes pop.

I walk downstairs and see mum sitting in the couch watching The Bachelor with a glass of wine in her hand and the other one stuck in a bowl of popcorn.

"Mum, I'm going." I tell her.

She turns around and grins. "Okay baby, have an amazing time. Text me if anything happens or if you need me to get you an Uber." She gives her usual speech she gives me everytime I go out.

I made it to the party about half an hour after it started. I drove here due to the fact that I have no intentions of drinking. My plan was to stay for a bit then leave to get some Shake Shack and go home.

But knowing my track record, it's probably not going to go as smooth as that.

I walk inside and text Jack to let him know that I'm here. I smile at a few people as I duck past dancing bodies and make my way further into the party house.

"Jack!" I smile and wrap my arms around him as he reaches me.

"How are you?" He asks as we pull apart. His contagious smile was plastered on his face as he looks at me.

"Could be better." I tell him honestly.

"Well you're out of your room and here so that's a good start." He smiles. "Let's go outside. It's a little less crowded."

We walk out to the pool area where I see a few people sitting around talking, smoking and drinking. It's definitely a different vibe to the last party. That one was crazy. People were dancing and throwing themselves around everywhere while this one is more relaxed with not nearly as many people.

I sit down on one of the pool chairs and let out a sigh.

"I'm gonna go get some drinks. Did you want anything?" Jack asks.

"Nah, I'm alright." He nods and walks away leaving me here to take in the slightly fresh air. I tap my foot as I look around trying to see if someone in particular catches my eye but he's nowhere in sight. I let out a small breath and push my hand through my hair.

"Not a drinker?" I look to my left and see who I recognise as the infamous Bryce Hall.

"Kinda, but I drove here so I'm not really looking to crash on the way home." I joke.
