maddy's pov

"Okay, okay," Vinnie waves his hands around with a big smile on his face, making Thomas turn his laptop back to face him.

"Sorry girls, Vinnie's taken by an Omegle girl now," Thomas tells the vlog as he glances over at me for a split second then looks back at his camera.

"We should try tinder next time. Vinnie, you have tinder right?" Alex chuckled.

"Yeah, he swiped right on my ex the other day," Michael threw his hand up.

My throat itches as it dries up slightly, almost making me choke on my breath. Poor timing if you ask me.

"Hey," I look at the boy next to me.

"Hm?" He looks down at me,

"do you think I could grab a glass of water?" My voice is slightly raspy as I touch my throat.

"Yeah, of course," He says and walks into the kitchen with me following.

He opened a cabinet and grabbed a glass out as I sat down on one of the stools.

"Here you go," he placed the glass of water in front of me.

"Thanks," I smile and take a sip.

He opened the fridge and took out the milk then went to the pantry and grabbed a box of cereal.

"Cereal?" He asked before he got a bowl out of the cabinet.

"Nah, I'm fine thanks," I shake my head.

I don't think I've actually had a single word exchange with Jack until now. I've seen him on Instagram and Tiktok plenty of times though— sometimes confusing him with his twin, James.

"So Maddy, tell me about yourself," Jack sits down in the seat next to me.

"Uh, well," I place the glass down, "I'm from Australia, I moved here when I was nine and I live with just my mum," I look down at my glass then up at him with a smile.

"Do you like it here or would you rather be in Australia?" He asked before pouring milk into his cereal.

"I don't really remember much from Australia except for my dad being a dick to my mum all the time," I huff and take a sip of the water.

"I'm sorry," he gives me a sympathetic look.

"Nah, it's fine," I shrug.

"So you and Vinnie, hm?" He raises an eyebrow as he scoops some cereal.

"What about us?" I ask as I shift in my seat.

"You two seem...close," there was a small smile on his lips as he says this.

"Yeah, I mean we've only known each other for like, three weeks? He's a good friend," I nod as I smile back.

My phone lights up with a next message from Jules.

Jules. God, I have to catch her up on everything. I tap on the message,
