"Last time on Total Drama Island, twenty-two campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp, then have to face the judgment of their fellow campers." Chris said enthusiastically. We were left standing on a cliff, waiting for Chris's instructions for the first challenge of the show. "Okay, today's challenge is three-fold. Your first task is to jump off this one-thousand-foot high cliff, into the lake." Chris described. "Piece of cake." Bridgette said. "If you look down, you will see two target areas. The wider part area represents the part of the lake that we have stocked with psychotic, ha ha, man-eating sharks. Inside that area is a safe zone. That's your target area. Which, we're pretty sure, is shark free." Chris explained. "Ex-cuse me?" Leshawna said in a sassy tone. Chris wanted to continue and said "For each member of your team that jumps and actually...survives, there will be a crate of supplies waiting below. Inside each crate are supplies that you'll need for the second part of the challenge. Building a hot tub. The team with the best one gets to have a wicked hot tub party tonight. The losers will be sending someone home." We all looked at Chris, then at each other, then back at Chris to see what team would be jumping first.  "Let's see. Killer Bass, you're up first." Chris said. They all let out a huge sigh of disappointment.  "Oh...wow. So, who wants to go first?" Bridgette asked her team. Nobody answered. Owen said "Hey, don't sweat it guys! I heard that these shows always make the interns do the stunt first, to make sure it's survivable." "So, who's up?" Eva said to her team. "Ladies first." Duncan said.  "Fine. I'll go. It's no big deal. Just an insane cliff dive into a circle of angry sharks." Bridgette said. And with that, she had jumped, and survived. Their team had gotten the first point of the game. "She did it! Yeah! Yeah! I'm next!" Tyler yelled to his team.  He jumped. I vaguely heard him yell "Cowabunga! Hoo-hoo!" I looked off the cliff and saw that he had hit a Bowie. After that Geoff was next, then Eva, then Duncan.  D.J had said something about how he has been afraid of heights sense he was a kid. Then Chris had placed a chicken hat on his head and made him slide down a slide to get to the bottom.  Next was Ezekiel, he still had is beanie on, with a swim suit. Harold, was next, he jumped in a form of the splits, he landed in the water that way too.  "Oh, hate to see that happen!" Chris said. "Excuse me, Chris. I have a medical condition." Courtney said. Oh no, miss princess is about to make an excuse. "What condition?" Chris asked. "A condition that prevents me from jumping off cliffs." She says. And there it is, the excuse. "You can chicken out if you want, but it might end up costing your team the win... and then they'll hate you." Chris says.  "It's a calculated risk. I've seen the other team, and I don't think nine of them will jump." Courtney says. She looks over at my team, I flip her off. She had grabbed her chest in a dramatic way and gasped. "All right, here is your chicken hat." Chris places a chicken hat on her head and she slides down the slide. "So, let's tally up the results. Hold on, that's eight jumpers and two chickens. We're missing one." Chris says.  "I'm not jumping without Katie!" Sadie says while holding Katie's hands. "We have to be on the same team, Chris! Please!" Katie says.  The girls began begging for Chris to let them switch teams, it got annoying the second it started. " Please! Can we? Can we, can we, Chris? Can we, can we, can we?!" The girls begged. "I'll switch places with her." Izzy says. "All right, fine. You're both on the Killer Bass now. Izzy, you're on the Screaming Gophers." Chris says.  "Yes!" The girls say at the same time. "That means you're up, girls!" Chris says. "We're coming, Killer Bass!" The girls screamed. They had jumped and made it safely in the circle. "Okay. So that's nine jumpers and two chickens. Screaming Gophers, if you can beat that, we'll throw in a pull-cart to put your crates on." Chris says. "Nice! Okay, guys, who's up first?" Trent asks. "I'm sorry, there is no way I'm doing this." Heather says. A lot of people roll their eyes, or even let out a massive sigh. "Why not?" Beth asks.  "Hello, national TV? I'll get my hair wet!" Heather says in a rude way. "You're kidding, right?" I asked. I was already ready to go home and/or jump off the cliff. "If she's not doing it, I'm not doing it!" Lindsay say while joining Heather's said. Leshawna stood infront of Heather and said "Oh, you're doing it!" "Says who?!" "Says me! I'm not losing this challenge 'cause you got your hair did, you spoiled little daddy's girl!" " Back off, ghetto glamour, too-tight pants wearing rap star wannabe!" "Mall shopping, pony-tail wearing, teen girl reading, peaking in high school prom queen!"  There was a pause after the two bickered. Heather finally spoke "Well at least I'm popular." Leshawna was pissed. "You're jumping!" Leshawna yelled. "Make me!" Heather clawed back.  Leshawna picked up Heather and threw her off the cliff. The people at the top see Heather's head pop out of the water. "Ugh, Leshawna! You are so dead!" "Hey, I threw you into the safe zone, didn't I?" Leshawna said. She had muffled something to her self but I couldn't quite hear. Leshawna jumped and made it in the safe zone. "I thought this was going to be a talent contest!" Lindsay said. " Yeah!" Chris says, then he laughs and says "No." Chris pushed Lindsay off the cliff. I was next, a sudden wave of nervousness overcame my body. I was afraid. Yes, of course everyone would be scared to jump off a cliff. But I wasn't terrified nor anxious. Hopefully it was a one time thing and I never had to do it again. I just jumped instead of waiting. When I was falling, the wind in my face was cold. I felt the urge to let all my rage out at that moment. So I screamed like everyone else. I haven't screamed in a while, it felt good to get that off my chest. I splashed into the water, Leshawna remembered that I can't swim so she was already waiting for me in the water. After I went, Cody jumped. He screamed like a little girl. After Cody, it was Izzy, she jumped and was... exited about it? She was screaming. "Yeah!" and "WooooooHoooooo!!!" Both of them landed in the safe zone, same with me. Justin had jumped next and landed in the un-safe zone. We were all screaming "PADDLE! PADDLE!" To get his attention, he was going to die. Instead of him suffering a slow death, the sharks had fallen in love with him and carried him back to shore. Great, he can make animals fall in love with him too. Beth was next. She was talking to Chris for a bit, then looked down with a chicken hat on her head. "Sorry!" She yelled. Cody and Leshawna mocked her by making chicken noises. I overheard Lindsay and Heather talking about Beth. "That is like, so lame... right?" Lindsay asked Heather. " Fully lame." Heather replied. Next was Trent. He jumped and landed in the safe zone. He looked back up and shouted "Wooooo!" To Owen. "Okay campers! There's only one person left! You guys need this jump for the win!" Chris said through his microphone.  We all began to cheer for the big guy with kiddish floaties on his arms who was about to jump off the cliff.  "Go, Owen, you can do it, Owen! Go, Owen!" We chanted.  "Jump, jump, just do it, Owen, do it!" Heather said. "Come on, big guy!" Leshawna says.  And at that moment, Owen had a running start, then jumped off the cliff. He was screaming curse words the whole way down. Once he had hit the water a huge wave had landed on the island. I was buried under the water and once it was gone, I was found in the arms off... Duncan. "Get off of me!" I said while pushing him away. "Whatever floats your boat pasty." He said. "What did I say about you calling me that name?" I said while walking up to him angrily. "A little foggy on it, something about how you will convince my team to vote me out." He replied hazily. "That's right, and I won't hesitate to do it." I said. "I noticed." He said. I walked away. I looked to my left and saw Owen cheering for himself. "Yes! Yeah! Oh yeah, who's the man?" He said. "The winners! The Screaming Gophers!" I heard Chris say through his megaphone. We got extra things to help us win the challenge. Thanks to Owen's bravery, this show may not be as bad as I thought.
