"Angela! Wake up or you're going to be late for school!"

Angela woke up. She found herself in her parents' house again. She looked in the mirror. Yes, she was 13 years old again. Was it all a dream? Did Rosalia really make her a teenager again? Either way, she was going to live her life now.

She did the usual of brushing her teeth, showering, and then having her breakfast before getting ready for school. She caught the school bus on time as usual.

"Alright" she thought to herself. "I'm going to turn my life around. I'm going to make some friends and live my best life as a teenager."

But when she entered the bus, she found herself nervous and unable to make eye contact with anyone. She ended up going to the last seat, where she usually sits. When she sat there, she buried herself in a book.

"That didn't go well" she thought. "Oh well, I'll just go to school and make friends."

Soon they reached school. Angela walked through the hallway, smiling and waving at everyone. No one seemed to notice her.

"Oh gosh, I forgot. I'm pretty much invisible here" she thought. "How am I going to get anyone's attention?"

She wasn't looking where she was going and bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," she said.

"Oh dear, I'm sorry" the other person said.

Angela looked at who she bumped into and blushed. Aaliyah Taylor, the student before her, was probably the most popular girl in her grade. She was beautiful, with her long hair that was almost always braided and fell into place beautifully, her dark skin which was always seemed to be glowing, and her fashion sense seemed impeccable. This time she was wearing a black t-shirt, a denim jacket, and jeans. She always got the best grades, and no matter how hard Angela tried, she never seemed to keep up with her. Deep down Angela had always wanted to be her friend, but she was just too caught up with her studies. Plus, she felt Aaliyah was way out of her league. After all, why would someone as cool as her want to be friends with someone like Angela, who never speaks unless spoken to? And now, she had made a bad impression on her. Damn it.

"I-I-I'm so sorry, I..." Angela stuttered.

"Oh no, its alright" Aaliyah said. "Here, let me help you."

Even her voice had a soothing effect on Angela. She really was good.

Aaliyah helped Angela pick up her books.

"Um... I-" Angela stuttered again.

"No you don't need to apologise" Aaliyah said with a smile. "I'm the one who bumped into you."

"No, I wasn't looking where I was going and I-"

"No no Angela, its my fault" Aaliyah said.

"You- you know my name?" Angela asked.

"I know everyone's names," Aaliyah said.

"Oh... I-I see. Well.. I have to get to class now. B-bye."

Angela ran off to her class as fast as she could.

Angela hit her head. Damn it, this was her chance to make a friend. Why did she have to mess it up? Now Aaliyah probably thinks less of her. Never mind, never mind. There were still other people. She could still make friends

Class hadn't started yet. Students were still talking and doing their thing. Normally, Angela would be studying at this time. But now, her priority was making friends. She turned to the girl next to her, who was tapping away on her phone.

"H-Hello" she said.

The girl turned to her.

"What? Wanna do my homework for me?" she asked.

"No, No, I just, uh, I was wondering if we could be, you know, friends?"

"Friends? Sure, we can be friends?"

"Really?"

"IF you do all of my homework."

"Um, I don't think I-"

"Yeah, that's what I thought."

The girl turned back and whispered "weirdo" under her breath.

Okay, so this was harder than its supposed to be. No matter. She still had time.

She turned to someone else. This one was a girl looking at herself in the mirror.

"Um, hello, I was thinking, uh, do you maybe wanna be friends?"

The girl just ignored her. Angela sighed.

This was going to be harder than she thought.

The teacher came in just then and the class started.

Lunch time soon came around. Angela sat alone, just like she remembered. She didn't expect making friends to be so hard. Maybe this is why she preferred to be alone.

"Um, hi Angela" Aaliyah came to her table. "Uh, do you mind if I sit with you?"

Angela was stunned. Aaliyah wanted to sit with her? After what happened that morning.

"Um, sure Aaliyah" she said.

"Thanks a lot" Aaliyah gave a warm smile and Angela blushed. God, she was beautiful.

"Hey, uh, I'm sorry for what happened in the morning" Angela said.

"Huh? Oh its fine, I told you, its not your fault" said Aaliyah.

They sat there awkwardly for a while, eating their lunch.

"Should I say something?" Angela thought.

"So, uh, what do you do after school?" Aaliyah asked.

"Oh, I usually, um, study or do homework and stuff" Angela responded.

"Everyday?"

"Yeah."

"Wow, you're so studious."

"Yeah."

"So uh, I'm going to the library after school. Wanna join me?" Aaliyah said.

"Yeah sure" Angela replied.

"Cool, see you then."

Lunch soon ended and the girls went back to their respective classrooms. Angela went over what happened again. There was no way. Aaliyah, the most popular girl in her grade, had asked her to go to the library? Normally Aaliyah wouldn't notice her, beyond maybe saying hello or giving a smile and she was mostly seen with her other popular girl friends. What changed?

Well, it didn't matter. Maybe this would be the start of a new friendship.
