Angela's thoughts had been in disarray since the previous day. She had enjoyed her outing with Aaliyah a lot. She never thought she'd get this opportunity. It almost felt like a dream. It had to be a dream. But everything she'd hoped to do, she was doing it. But there was something else she just didn't expect.

She went to school that morning and saw Aaliyah at her locker. She shouldn't be nervous, right? After all, Aaliyah was her friend now. Yet she felt her heart pounding in her chest. Her stomach felt like it had butterflies.

What was this feeling?

"Hi Angie" Aaliyah said. Her voice was so gentle, and she looked as beautiful as ever. She was wearing a pink full sleeved top and a black skirt. Her braids were tied in two ponytails.

"H-Hi Aali" Angela said. "Wow, still not used to hearing that."

Aaliyah giggled.

"Your face is all red"

"Oh, is it?"

Angela held her face in her hands.

"You're so cute when you're shy like that" Aaliyah said.

"What? I'm not-"

The first bell rang.

"Oh, its class time. See you at lunch, Angie."

Angela rushed to her class.

She was not able to pay attention that whole time. All she could think about was how she acted around her.

Just what was going on?

Aaliyah had been feeling the same way. Ever since her outing with Angela she was questioning things. Even thinking of Angela made her feel things she couldn't explain. She may have been hiding it, but her face got red too.

"Aaliyah! Aaliyah Taylor!" the teacher was calling her.

"Wha-huh?!"

"Aaliyah Taylor, are you paying attention?" the teacher said.

"Uh- yes Mr Wilson"

"Then would you care to solve this equation?" Mr Wilson pointed to the board.

Aaliyah looked stumped.

"I'd appreciate it if you kept your ears open next time," Mr Wilson said.

"Of course. I'm sorry Mr Wilson."

Lunch time soon came around. Angela and Aaliyah sat at the same table. They looked at each other, then looked down and blushed.

"Oh, hello girls," Monica said. "Aren't you forgetting someone?"

"Hey Monica," Aaliyah said.

"So I heard you guys went out yesterday," said Monica. "Saw the pictures. Real cute."

"Yeah. We had a lot of fun" said Angela.

"How come you didn't invite me though?" asked Monica. "

"Oh we just wanted to spend time with each other. You know, get to know each other better" said Aaliyah.

"You can always do that during lunch time," said Monica. "Come on Aali, aren't I- aren't we your besties?"

"Of course you are" said Aaliyah. "I just wanted to spend some time with Angie here."

"Angie? Oh, already have a nickname for her?" asked Monica. "You never call me a nickname."

"I just couldn't find a good one for 'Monica'" said Aaliyah.

Monica and Hannah laughed.

"So Angela, how's it like to not spend the weekend studying?" asked Monica.

"I don't study all the time, Monica" said Angela.

"Really? Then what do you do?"

"Well, sometimes, I work on my game."

"Oh, you're really going about that?" asked Monica. "Forget it."

Angela didn't say anything.

Lunch time soon ended. Angela went back to class. Aaliyah, Monica, and Hannah followed behind her.

Angela felt as though Monica had been making fun of her.

School soon ended. Angela went to her locker to take her things.

"Hey Angie" a familiar voice said.

Angela turned around.

"Hey Aali" she said.

"Uh, I was wondering, do you, uh, want to go to the library with me? I have a book to return and I-"

"Sure" said Angela.

"Great. Get your stuff and we'll be on our way."

Monica was watching from behind.

"The way Aali's acting around that girl is so strange. Was her face red? Could she be.... No way. Aali's too cool for someone like Angela Wang. After all, the only reason she'd let someone like Angela join us is because she felt sorry for her, right? Anyways, I think I'll follow them."
